I believe, from what I recall reading in the Whistleblower report, it was Trump that ordered Pence not to go -- that prior to Trump's order they VP's office had planned the trip and were ready to go.

I do agree. I would like to see some good conservative candidates that are not associated with the president. The downside to that is if they supported any of the things that the president did, like taxes or shutting down the border etc. the will be attacked non-stop by the left and media. Even if they don't act like Trump.

I think that's right, so I think this particular wrinkle does NOT implicate Pence (in the sense of knowing anything about the scheme). But the day ain't over, and his name has been mentioned in other connections to all this.

(And I still have a tiny hope that Flynn did not lie to Pence, but Pence did lie to the American people.)
