  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

Getting ready for the storm!

Balance, my finances are not a wreck. I do have debt's to pay like a mortage and new car but that doesn't leave me with hundreds or thousands of dollars to invest. As for looking for someone who is hiring, I am a college student and believe God has led me to become a student. I don't believe that God is now going to tell me to stop my college classes and get a low paying, unskilled job just because Obama might become president. Otherwise, thanks for the advice. :)

I have always taken up for Bush out of respect for the position, which the Bible tells us to honor the position - however I have lost all respect for Bush over the way these two border agents have been treated - it is the worst injustice I have ever seen and that prosecutor Sutton should be behind bars also for the way he handled it.

The drug carrier got less time in jail than the two border agents - I have written letters, emails, phone calls- signed every petition that comes along - nothing seems to get through. I don't know why anyone would even want to be a border agent.

This is horrible, but I don't even want to vote. The way McCain has been talking about pro-choice issues....I feel like I can't support him.

I know God is in control. The government was horrible to Jesus' followers in Jesus day and afterwards. Jesus never really even addresses it.

I found this very interesting -

    "Harsh storm" threatens global economy"

I am so glad I started preparing for this in August. Are you ready? I hope you took the time to pray and seek God's voice.

Just yesterday I locked in a home equity line of credit with a fixed interest -

Just a follow up to this.

Between my last post until now, I have made a couple changes again. In August of last year I brought all my high risk investments into liquid form, part of it was caution because the market got destabilized and it looked like it was going to tank.

In doing the move so early I lost about 9% of my portfolio, but that is a whole lot less than others. BUT that was completely dwarfed by one single move. In February, the Holy Spirit was speaking to me about American Airlines. I was able to purchase it at 3.10 a share and it closed today at 8.36.

I also traded the motorcycle in for a used vehicle for my wife.

All the glory goes to God! All this planning and praying has helped immeasurably, especially in 2009 when I literally went with no income for 4 months and yet had enough reserve to meet every need.

    God's provision is good!

Any other testimonies on how God is providing for you through this potential economic disaster?

Wow, you called it! I remember reading that post. Praise God!

My husband has an auto repair shop and God showed us that we had to branch out and start doing other "types" of repair jobs that would require expensive equipment that we didn't have. Up until that time it was a specialty shop and the focus was in just a couple of areas.

So -(coincidently ;) ) - a neighboring repair shop went out of business at that time and they asked my husband if he wanted to buy all their stuff and it was cheap and just what he needed.

People here are waiting until their cars are falling apart to have them repaired, but they are still coming in thank God.

Had we not made these changes we wouldn't have been able to survive these past couple years. Plus we would have had to lay off workers and Florida is at 10-11% unemployment.

Yes, we definitely need to pray because bashing never solves anything.

We also need to realize God's reiterating to His people what He's already said in His Word [to not be in debt] and help us apply it so we can rise above all this baloney that's going on.

A couple years ago I posted something that is very much along these lines about how we needed to get out of debt. I know that's not an exciting or new revelation, but it was an urgent message. Now, less than three years later debt seems to be a four-letter-word around the globe. Nearly everyone from the bottom up is over-extended, and while we can't change what anyone else does, we can still do our best to make sound fiscal decisions that are based on God's Word.

I'm glad the Lord impressed me and others to make the right changes in our lives. We paid off a credit card that would have jumped up to 27.99%. I think of people who carry a constant balance on their cards, and an interest rate like that would be devastating.

It's also refreshing to look back at what the Lord told someone and see His great Love for us in wanting to prepare us for whatever is coming. God is good.

I took a little hit ( about 9%), in the beginning of the year, but all in all am in better shape than August of 2008.

I'm actually starting my final approach for retirement. I have my first rental home all set and producing income. And am working on a unique business plan that will help people buy homes.
