In order for us to communicater with eachother, we clearly need the same framwork or premiss if you will, and understand our differences. We have our sets of christian values, and we also have the secular ones that permiates our society more and more, and tends to dominate in politics. We can barely discuss among ourselves, so how on earth can we do it in relation to the islamic union.

So, I just cut through the bogustalk on MSM, and pointless liesperts, brass tacks. The muslim of this world, they view all islamic nations as one nation, a union if you will. A country in the empire should be viewed more as a district or state in a nation, so you get the baseline view amongs them. So, it is clearly very different values on human rights, and the UN and us criticize all islamic nations nonstop. But do we really want to keep pretending that there is another option in islamic nations in our time? Why not let them choose for themselves and hold their own elections, or conquer nations?

Taliban is 10% harsher punishment than other islamic nations, is it a big deal? Never going to be humanitarian. Why not just let it be, and let taliban stabilize the nation, the other option failed and the US left. Or do folks rather want the west to go in and start bombing, and a new fullscale war again? It is a bit sadistic to keep doing that. We tend to say it is better to die free, than live chained, but not all agree, and the west and islamic nations will never agree.

discuss some pros and cons for both sides, and do the poll.

You should read a book about the different denomations of islam and their relations.

The idea that there is an islamic union that is ruled from mecca is ludicrous.

Child of Hitchens buddy, I know Islam. Bacame a bit obsessed with it after 9/11. Are you trying to point out that you have 2 different main denominations, sunni(conservative) and Shia(not as extreme). And that you have minor ones like the alawits, like Assad is in Syria, a small minority of like 5-10% of the people there. Was asking iff we in the west could views the broad agreement in the islamic world, that you do have islamic laws as the rule, and most want shariacourts with brutal punishment. That women are second class citicens. That infidels are to be discriminated, and persecuted. That gays and infidelity should result in brutal and often leathal punishment. We have surveys among western muslims regarding theese issues, and when the majority of those want gays put to death for being gay, you cannot expect much different from afghans. Looke at Turkey, the islamic country that is closest to us, and they have rolled back and become more islamic. The majority has supported it.

Try stating a personal opinion, and not refer to liesperts and talking heads. And none of theese questions back and forth, that drives it off topic. And there is a poll to vote in. Talk to others, I just posed a question to folks. Just testing a poll.

Yes, I know, you just want to converse and have no opinion, no need to read your post. Have a good day.

What "Islamic Empire"?

The last thing resembling an Islamic empire collapsed with the Ottomans at the end of WWI.
Apparently because they all oppress women, they're some sort of hivemind or something, I don't know, I sort of zoned out.

How big does an empire need to become to qualify. The Taliban are imperial over the territories they have conquered. Islam only ever rules by force and really it spreads by conquest and birthrate. But the last two big Islamic empires the Mughal Empire in India and the Ottomans were both finished off by the British.

The only way to defeat Islam probably involves the use of force, at least that is the case historically. But Western democracies are no longer equipped with the necessary spiritual resolve to make that happen. Both Russia and China have had more success dealing with the Islamic populations and might be better suited to take on the challenge of Islam. It is a question of willpower and persistence and ultimately having a better reason than Islam for displacing that religion. Western moral relativists have nothing to offer here.

What did I say about morals, relative or other wise? Western democracies? or repressive non-Islamic states?

Ruling one country (if they even do) is *not* an empire.
