The hebrew word "na'aseh" is a plural verb, which, based on the context of the words "our image" and "our likeness", means "let us make""Israeliets" is plural. "He" is singular. Israelites do. He does. Exodus 19:8 is talking about them.
Genesis 1:27 makes it clear that Genesis 1:26 is talking about Him.
Yet again, if 2 kings 4:10 doesn't make it clear that it's the husband and wife, who will do the making, 2 Kings 4:9 does. They make He makes. In English it shouldn't read, "He make, they makes."
This is basic English. I'm not buying that the translators were only capable of speaking hillbilly ebonics.
Shabbat shalom.
"Let us make" is the correct way to translate Genesis 1:26
