So here is a picture of my roses that just started to bloom:

Picture 1: This is the rose as it just starts to unfurl its petals....

Picture 2: This is the EXACT same rose 24 hours later. What a difference!

I meant to comment on this earlier. These are great pictures. I didn't know a rose would go through that much difference in one day!

I pulled turnips the other day and have a pretty good haul. I also pulled the various kinds of lettuce I had growing. It's getting warm here (temps were in the 90s today), so the lettuce was starting to turn bitter and bolt. So, I planted various kinds of squash, more green beans, and cucumbers.

I'm pretty excited about this! :) This is supposed to be seedless blackberries. I planted it a couple years back. I'm thinking it will be good for making wine. I won't have enough this year, but this is the first year is has bloomed and it's already showing fruit. Interesting, it has bloomed way later than the wild blackberries did.

Edit: Thornless blackberries. Not seedless, haha! o_O What in the world?

Thank you! I, too, did not know that either. I planted 4 bushes this spring in early April; I did not know what to expect!

Your garden looks great! I long for the days when I, too, will have that much space again (like 8 years from now whenever we move again).

That looks great! Are you in planting zone 5? I see you still have lettuce and such. Fantastic. I'm in 7. My lettuce bolted already.

Thanks! I'm in Zone 5b. It's starting to get pretty hot out, but the lettuce seems A-OK to this point. Last week was in the 90s but the last two days were 77 and 81.

I don't have any of the seed at the moment, but I've always had excellent results with Burpee's All Season lettuce mixture - usually lasts for a good while!
