My garden needs weeding, where do these weeds come from? My tulip bulbs are coming through. I will have to sort out the weeds.
Perhaps the heart is the same?

I didn't know whether to put this here or in Charles Spurgeon, but the Praise Garden won because of the association with plants.
Psalm 18:35
Thy gentleness has made me great.
David ascribed all his personal greatness to the goodness of God.
Thy providence is another reading, which is goodness in action.
Goodness is a bud,
Providence is the flower,
Goodness is the seed,
Providence is the harvest.
... there is more in this chapter so I hope to add some more later.

My garden is beginning to thaw out, the ice is retreating.
Now I am thinking of the most important thing we need. It is the sun, the warmth filtered through today.
And I can see the parallel with my soul. I feel the warmth of the Son in my soul today.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.
Psalms 113:3 KJV

In my Garden of Praise the bushes are not showing any signs of life, but in the cold ground there is a clump of yellow crocus in full flower! I praise God for the first flowers in my Praise Garden.
Looking at the empty flower beds I have a vision of beautiful plants and flowers.
Dear Father, may I learn from my garden of Praise.

I love my 'Spriit-Filled N K J Translation of the Bible:. It is so good to be in my Praise Garden!
Yes, I am thinking of using my actual garden, and looking at the lessons to be learned from watching the seasons change and the the many plants and animals.
Lord reveal yourself through my Garden of Praise.

We planted a Sycamore tree from a seed, in a plant pot and then last Autumn we put it in the ground. It is a foreign variety, not the enormous English one. The first thing that I thought of was Psalms 1.
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

At the moment there are no leaves and it looks quite bare, in fact I feel quite excited at the prospect of Spring, and seeing how my tree likes its new home.
It will be well watered as we are on a gentle slope and the water runs down the hill into our garden and then onto the next.:)

We had a sunny morning in the Garden of Praise, and then the sun went behind the clouds and it became gradually colder as the day went on.
I am sure that this is a symbol of life, times of blessing when we feel the love of Jesus and then the world can seem cold and dark and the Lord, far away. Of course we know that he is still there, and we live by faith.

Father we bless and Praise you for your love for us.

Isaiah 61:11

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

fascinating how things work so perfectly together at the Lord's hand ... the ants make it possible for the buds to open ... in His time ...

yes, it is fascinating how things work out.
A gentleman came to the door today with a van full of stuff. Would we like our drive cleaned and the patio, paths etc?
Well, with Spring around the corner and my Garden of Praise looking the worst for wear, after the bad weather, Peter and I thought it was a good idea. He worked very hard and when he had finished, it all looked beautiful.
I thank the Lord for his encouragement. :)

I saw wren in our garden yesterday, such a sweet little bird. It was hopping around on the Garden railway track, over the trestle bridge and into the rose bush. :)
