  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

They don't have men's tournys for the same reason this bloke managed to force his way in: it's illegal.
In physical sports there's absolutely a need for segragation because if there wasn't we wouldn't have women's sports. And that would be a real shame for a lot of female athletes. But there's no reason why a poker match needs to be separated in this manner. It smacks to me of a hyprocritical double standard where women want to force themselves into men's competitions, and yet want to retain the right to exclude men when it suits them.

The article stated that the idea was to encourage women into playing poker (to make money for the casino). Have you ever played cards in mixed company? The competition is usually fiercer when there are guys around then when there arn't. Women can feel safer in a woman only environment when they're not used to something, particularly when it's highly competitive.

However I think that anyone who seriously gambles deserves to lose their money anyway. It's not like they're unaware of the odds. Particually in a casino.

Personally, I think that is just tacky. I mean why do people have do such things? I am not a poker player and I don't get the whole gambling thing but as a woman I do like things to be women only. I like to see women doctors. I like to go to the females only section of the gym. I like to hang around other women. In male domnated sports, such as poker, I can understand why a women's only club exists. I just don't understand why people have to do such things. So he won against all the women, what is new in that?
