Frequent Slow Loading of CF pages

This is the overall Big Bug this forum exhibits consistently. Sometimes it is so excruciatingly slow the page times out, or the reply doesn't load. I have a fast connection, a new computer with no problems, and I don't experience this kind of annoyance on any of the other very large sites and forums I participate in and use. So why? And why hasn't it been dealt with almost five months?

It's a known problem that we are actively working on. It's a combination of a huge site (50 mil posts, ~800 forums) and a bad history of upgrade problems.

On a side note, we are working on optimizations to try and combat the problem.

I'm guessing the overabundance of graphic trinkets doesn't help.
