It is odd that heterodox Christians of the recent past are more Orthodox at times than actual Church members of the present, but it also makes sense, that as we are either falling, or are in constant danger of falling further away from our own Holy Tradition, in this constant Fall, that Christians of the past are closer to Tradition than many of us now.

Sometimes there are found, within heterodox regions of the world, those who would be Orthodox under different circumstances. Lewis is probably one. I believe I'm aware of some others as well, based on the characteristics of their faith and works. I could elaborate but I'll leave it at that. Sadly there seems to be abundant tares growing in our own backyard wheat field at the moment.

that should not be odd (tragic, not odd) though, as it was predicted. plus, it’s something the Church has dealt with from the beginning, only now there are heterodox who are struggling to live a godly life.
