The Trump train is on the move.
Wisconsin should recoup the investment over the long-term. At least it's better than a tax break for a new football stadium.I'm happy for Wisconsin and the US.
However, just to rain on the parade a little bit, Wisconsin is providing $3 billion in subsidies. That is $230,000 per job promised.
I don't think those jobs are all promised, the article says 'may'. But if all goes well other suppliers contacting with Foxconn are likely to move there as well, making more jobs available.I'm happy for Wisconsin and the US.

Sad, but true. Great that we don't have those working conditions in the States.wait...is that the company that had all those suicides?

True, however it speaks to the moral and ethical character of Foxconn.Sad, but true. Great that we don't have those working conditions in the States.
Sweatshop jobs moving from China to US to take advantage of lower wages and not so tough employment laws. Next jobs coming from Cambodia and Vietnam. Sounds like good for people wanting to make $5 a day..The Trump train is on the move.

I have a life-long boarding pass for the Trump Train! The Trump train is on the move.
Thank you! President Trump is on his way to re-election, after that the Trump Presidential Library at the Wharton School of Business.I have a life-long boarding pass for the Trump Train!
As for the "Trump Train":The announcement by the Taiwanese giant Foxconn that it will build an LCD-manufacturing facility in Wisconsin worth an estimated $10bn was met with considerable fanfare.
But the state has a troubled history in matters of economic development, and the company, a supplier to Apple, Google, Amazon and other tech giants, has a lackluster record when it comes to fulfilling its promises. The news should raise red flags.
The deal, backers say, will create 13,000 jobs in six years – in return for a reported $3bn in state subsidies. Only 3,000 of those jobs will come immediately. Furthermore, the Washington Post has reported that Foxconn has a track record of breaking such job-creation promises. In 2013, the company announced plans to hire 500 people and invest $30m in Pennsylvania. The plan fizzled out.
they already have plans to gut that also, so you can climb on to that train as much as you like, unfortunately? it's not actually going to go anywhere.Under a budget proposal from President Donald Trump, however, those historic long-distance train lines that have run coast to coast for 45 years could soon be a thing of the past, cutting off passenger train service to 220 cities.
Despite campaign promises from Trump swearing to devote federal money to supporting infrastructure, the proposed federal budget included cutting all federal support to Amtrak’s long distance train travel, the Washington Post reported.

Thats a good one. I like this one:
Given the public way in which the jobs were announced, they should actually materialize in Wisconsin. It would be bad form, not to mention bad for business if Foxconn didn't follow through. Here's an interesting article about this:
Foxconn's $10bn move to the US is not a reason to celebrate

You mean like they did here in 2013:Given the public way in which the jobs were announced, they should actually materialize in Wisconsin. It would be bad form, not to mention bad for business if Foxconn didn't follow through.
Foxconn, the Taiwanese electronics contract manufacturer to many U.S. tech giants, will spend $30 million on a new factory in the Harrisburg, Pa., area that will employ up to 500 people, according to state officials.
Second term? that's pretty funny. Also?...you do know his budget cut funding for airports and roads as well, right? As for trains, I like the ideal of train travel, especially high-speed rail. Trump seems to want to place the focus on roads and airports. Maybe rail expansion can be funded in his second term.
tulc(just thought HereIStand would be interested)Senate Democrats released an analysis showing that the Trump budget actually contained a net cut to infrastructure programs, reducing federal outlays by $145 billion over 10 years. Those include cuts to Amtrak, the Highway Trust Fund, eliminating TIGER grants, and a number of other reductions. (emph. added)
