Paul Suffers For Christ
2 Corinthians 11:
22
Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So I.
23 Are they ministers of Christ? I speak as a fool, I more: in labors more abundant,
in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.
24 From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.

The Law of Moses
Deuteronomy 25
:
1 If there is a dispute between men, and they come to court, that the judges may judge them, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked,
2 then it shall be, if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, that the judge will cause
him to lie down and be beaten in his presence, according to his guilt, with a certain number of blows.
3 Forty blows he may give him and no more,
lest he should exceed this and beat him with many blows above these, and your brother be humiliated in your sight.

Do you accept the need to punish by stripes?

No. Paul was recieving beatings from the Jewish authorities, not from Christian authorities.
The O T laws are not in force in the countries we live in and we do not have authority to punish people in our churches/Christian communities with beatings.

Acts 5:
40 And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus,
and let them go.
41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were
counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

What lesson comes from this teaching of Messiah?

Luke 12:
47 And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare or do
according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes,
shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him
much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him
they will ask the more.

Have you suffered beatings for your faith ?

Not yet, why?
Do you think that the beatings that Paul received were "blameless" as to the righteousness
of the Law? At least, in the minds of the authorities who punished him.
The Law is posted in the OP.

If its your fate to be tortured for Christ then you will be tortured. Not all the Apostles died as martyrs. Not all believers are tortured or persecuted for their faith.
I just wanted to politely point out that in this first post of yours you mention torture and martyrdom.
Neither is relevant to the OP. Stripes were a disciplinary measure given in the Law. I am asking, especially to people who claim to keep the Torah, what they feel about this discipline being applied to the limit for Paul 5X. Were they blameless as to the Law? The statute is posted, with hints in bold.
