Seeing the massive discussion over animal death before the Fall recently, I think it would be interesting to hold a formal debate to iron this out now. I propose the motion of the debate:

"Animal death before the Fall is compatible with orthodox and reasonable interpretation of the Bible."

"Animal death" is self-evident. Carnivorism is included under "animal death" - note that this increases my burden of proof. "The Fall" is the event described in Genesis 3, and the parameter assumes that the Fall actually happened - i.e. that there was a first pair of humans fashioned in the image of God, who were given a choice to obey God or to sin against Him, and who chose to sin against Him upon the temptation of the Devil, thus leading to the consequences against creation outlined in Genesis 3.

Any takers? (Tag-teaming would be interesting too - 2 on 2, maybe.) Format would probably be opening post, two content posts, one rebuttal post, and closing post.

Let's see what happens!
