You can if you're Lutheran;); grab one from my signature.

Good advice; I would not want to spill my very last one!

"Well, I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer
Well, I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer
The future's uncertain and the end is always near"
from Roadhouse Blues by Jim Morrison.

If even Jim Morrison, God rest the poor boy's soul, can understand the uncertainty of the knowledge we think we possess, why are some others so full of hubris?

No idea. But I do know the porter I bought was very rich, very dark and very smooth. I've still got 9 bottles of it left :)

Or better yet, all of y'all can put me in yer last will and testament, so I will at least be able to half way survive while y'all are comfy in heaven :)

A Rapture codicil for Last Will and Testament « Heaven Awaits

For a long time, I enjoyed thinking about the Rapture, and if it were true, and when it might happen, if true. But I had never put too much thought into what would happened to those left behind to people I cared about, if there was a rapture and I was in it.

So what I am doing now is updating my Last Will and Testament, and including a codicil to the Will which addresses the Rapture. Most wills being executed are based on a person’s death, not their disappearance. If I just disappear, then my family will be stuck in limbo. Of course, I would like them to come with me, but that is God’s decision, not mine.
.
Each day we are faced with the possibility of not being here tomorrow, so protecting those we love is important.

Well, Little Lamb of Jesus, that is certainly considerate of you to think of your family in the case of rapture. However, you have nothing to worry about. When Jesus returns, all of humanity that exists then and ever has existed will be judged. There will not be a select few going to Heaven while the rest stay behind to face the antichrist and a massive tribulation. Indeed if this were the case it would require Jesus Christ to return to earth twice: once for the rapture and once to finally end the world. Also, the rapture is a false doctrine. You can read more about it at this link:

The Rapture | Catholic Answers

Also, I recommend a couple of books to you.

The first is "The Rapture Trap" by Paul Thigpen and the second is "Rapture" by David B. Currie

Sounds wonderful but do you think 9 is sufficient? To paraphrase W. C. Fields - you never know when they might bring back Prohibition. Maybe it is just an American being paranoid. Of course nowadays in America no one would ever dream of trying to make the argument that people need the government to protect them from making the wrong choices.

Some radical "futurists" felt the locusts with scorpion stingers were actually symbolizing helicopters in Revelation! :D
I kid you not!

Once again and As always, Matthew 24:36 triumphs over these ridiculous theories. :)
:)

How much of Matt 24 [Olivet Discourse] do the EOC believe has been fulfilled?

(2Pe 3:1) This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
(2Pe 3:2) That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
(2Pe 3:3) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
(2Pe 3:4) And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
(2Pe 3:5) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
(2Pe 3:6) Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
(2Pe 3:7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
(2Pe 3:8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(2Pe 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
(2Pe 3:10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
(2Pe 3:11)Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
(2Pe 3:12) Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
(2Pe 3:13) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
(2Pe 3:14) Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
(2Pe 3:15) And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
(2Pe 3:16) As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
(2Pe 3:17) Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
(2Pe 3:18) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
