"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God & His Righteousness, and all these things will be given unto you."
Francis Chan is a fantastic Christan speaker; definitely look up more from him if you want a passionate voice on all this good Kingdom of God stuff. He's normally much more passionate than he is in this video; not sure why he's so chill here, but the message is solid.

His talk here reminds me of a thought I had in prayer, one of the many, many times I was praying for a girlfriend. The thought was simple, more of a realization of a key detail I'd been missing. It was in prayer when I realized...what does it matter if I find a girlfriend? I thought, of course it matters! It's what I've been seeking for all these years! It's the greatest desire God put on my heart!!

But then I realized, no....the greatest desire God puts on anyone's heart is the desire for Heaven. A girlfriend is good; anything else in this world can be good. But here's the key...whether or not I ever find a girlfriend will have no impact on my eternal salvation. An incredible lifelong marriage can last 62 years, but that's laughable short compared to Eternity with God

"Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are Above, not on the things that are on the Earth."

I think this is geared more to married couples & they s/ not sacrifice ministry.

In other words, just remember that Jesus loves you and you'll suddenly be happy and content and won't want a companion anymore.

It is possible that you have the gift of singleness, my friend. If so, praise the Lord! But some of us do not.

That doesn't work! :p 0/10 My raging desires will not be stopped until they sink themselves into human flesh. :p

Well does Corinthians yet doth say,
that it is better to marry than to burn away.
For years I have lived in this firey wreck,
I apologize for the claws and the burnt mess.

Now you, good sir, I am sure you well intend,
with your preaching, my broken heart to mend.
But alas, I have little of a damaged soul
and more of a body burning me to charcoal!

God is quite good, and I love him well,
despite the fact he has left me to burn in this way.
He still wants me on the earth,
to tell people about my second birth.

But alas I would be greatly comforted today,
To have a kindred soul by my side to soothe my body's pain,
as it stays to reach other broken souls
a person to talk with, and perhaps, to hold.

If you are not keen to provide such help,
    all is well;
but if not, refrain from mockery-
if your body does not burn
show kindness to those of us in turn,
lest you wrong those of us more maimed,
and foolishly add to our pain.

For everything comes in its time,
    says the Ecclesiastes rhyme,
and when it finally comes along,
it shall be dear to those who burn.

Without time spent in the flames,
we would not know the value of relief from pain.

You can’t bake a new cake with an old recipe. If the theology is faulty the results fall short. No matter the spin. You can repackage it a 100 ways and the majority come up empty.

You can’t quote a book you’ve never read from cover to cover or know the answers without studying the related texts (apocrypha). If you did you’d see the truth and the domino effect.

You’d understand your singleness, what’s happening around you, and why the church is flailing. You’d see the enemy’s hand in your condition, religion, and world events.

When you know the truth you’ll listen to very few. Because the majority are complicit. You’ll see the discrepancies between what’s preached and what the bible says. And you’ll realize the passages they never touch.

If you lose your way you return to the previous point and begin again. For believers that’s Israel. You can’t understand your experiences if you believe everything you hear. Only the truth sets us free. Not tradition or platitudes.

Trust me, good sir...if you knew me in real life, you would understand this is NOT the message I bear! ^_^:sigh: The idea here is to be focused on something greater...this is not to replace your (or my) desire for a girlfriend, but to contextualize it in the ultimate desire of eternal life. All in all, the sting of loneliness still lingers, but it allows you to see beyond the pain. ...does that make sense? It's hard to discuss these things 1 text message at a time like this.

I contest this statement as factually incorrect. My mom’s strawberry cake recipe still works, despite it being old, and it is the most delicious cake known to me.

    I agree with this.
