For those of you who are Republicans, do you REALLY want Trump to run again in 2024?

I hate to say this, but Trump is damaged goods.

not to mention he is old.

Why don't you look to the next generation to lead the Republican Party in 2024?

what about Congressman Dan Crenshaw.

he is young, he is whip smart, he is handsome, he is charismatic. what is not to like?

Also Ron DeSantis seem pretty good too

And then there is Congressman MarkWayne Mullin. A staunch family man, a success business man who is for old fashioned value.

Do you really want to keep look back at Trump?

btw, this thread is really for those members who are Republicans. So you are a Democrat, can you try not respond?

thanks

If you'll accept a reply from a non-Republican Trump supporter I'll give it a try.

Trump is "damaged goods" for two reasons. One of those reasons is he cannot manage his mouth in public. As Newt Gingrich once said, "if Trump would exercise a little discipline he would be a good President".

The second -and by far and away the most serious and important- is the five year long outright assault on his presidency and his supporters by his opponents. We are only now learning the extent of it. And the most bizarre part of it is that what was once dismissed by the establishment media and others as lies by Trump, in fact turned out to be true. If Trump came out tomorrow and said he was abducted by aliens I could not dismiss the claim for at least ten years.

But you mention Dan Crenshaw. I honestly have never considered him but he would make a good candidate. Reasonable enough guy but a bit under-experienced. Maybe DeSantis/Crenshaw 2024?

Trump
The national average for regular gas on his last day in office, January 20, was $2.393 per gallon,

Biden
The average gas price in California was $4.704 on Sunday and $4.705 on Tuesday, according to AAA data.

Fact check: Gas prices when Trump left office were much higher than he now claims - CNNPolitics
Apples to apples? Be consistent. If you reference national average for one, reference national average for the other...

that is a dollor a gallon for the first 10 months of the Biden admin.

Today's AAA National Average $3.482 . Price as of 2/12/22.

I'm not sure that the GOP can or will offer another straight-shooter like him.

I think that straight shooter is the right phrase, but I think that he will be hard pushed to get elected again, with some negativity and potential lies thrown at him by the democrates and much of the press. America needs a strong and honest leader like never before. Which side it comes from is less important than the need for a straight and honourable man, or woman who can be trusted to do right.

It is of course not just who that leader will be, but also the people who are forming the team around that person. I don't know how possible that it is likely to be that we will get a God fearing president, but maybe God in His goodness, will grant America such a president. It certainly won't just be good for America, but probably for the whole world as well.

"Looking back"? That isn't what I call looking back. Nor do I believe in bowing to terrorists. In the four years he was President he did more good for this country than any president I can remember, in spite of having to go it alone, as far as help from the Republicans, and in the face of all that opposition and hate. He got more good done before breakfast than Obama could do in a week. More than Biden could do in a year.

I still don't like his personality, but the more he gets kicked by those whom I have never trusted, those who hate for hate's sake, those who operate by emotion and not mind, those who call wrong right and right wrong, those who are guilty of what they accuse him of, the better I like him. And the more I see them gnash their teeth the happier I am.

The only one I would like to see there, besides him, is Ted Cruz, particularly if he really can get the income tax abolished!

De Santis is my first choice for president and Crenshaw is farther down, but he'd make a good vice.

I haven’t been paying a lot of attention to gas prices and good prices, politics, mandates, and stuff like that. I live in my parents house, buy almost nothing, and I am homeschooled, so who the president is doesn’t affect me personally very much. So my answer could be completely wrong since I don’t know much about politics.
I think a lot of people want Trump to be president and then DeSantis, and then De Santis to have a good Vice President that will be elected after him. That way, if they were all elected for President, there would be 20 years of good republican presidents.
Also, thank you OP, for writing your post in a way that criticizes Trump but not Trump supporters.

80% evangelical supported Trump. After that I don’t believe evangelical care about “God fearing President’ . As long as a candidate can beat Democrat, evangelical Christians doesn’t care what character the candidate has.

Trump is no angel, but when faced with a choice between him and Hillary, and no other choice, evangelical Christians chose the obvious lesser of two evils.

If I voted, I may vote for DeSantis or Huckabee. I think politics are rigged years in advance anyway. Voting is just an illusion of choice, at least on federal and state levels. Voting only works when someone says "All in favor..." and people raise their hands. All this electronic and mail-in ballot nonsense is as rigged as any other socialist republic.

Those who cast their votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything- Joseph Stalin, dictator of the USSR.

Well in 2024 you will not face Hilary vs Trump .. you will face with 15 others GOP Candidate vs Trump and I hope out of 15 GOP candidate there will be 1-2 who are God fearing.

Regarding voter fraud. We American practicing democracy for past 250 years and until Trump lost the election no one questioned about our democracy.

Joseph Stalin statement has no impact on me. The “Will of the people” works in America , that is the testament of 2020 election. Despite sitting POTUS tried to overturn the election result, American democracy prevailed and Joe Biden is President.

If not him, someone like him, in fetal rights & bringing back jobs to the US.

You do realize that more jobs have been created under Biden than any other time in the history of the United States, right?

That's not apples to apples, because Biden's term hasn't ended.
