Following the Man of Galilee

The Bible tells us so much about our LORD in the Gospels. Where He went and what He did.

Are we following the man of Galilee ?

The Jewish people and their Rabbi assumed they were the true chosen nation who inherited the Salvation and the Kingdom of God.

They are also good to only those who were of their own country, nation, and religion, whom they are pleased to look upon as their friends. Others salute their brethren, and embrace those of their own party, and way, and opinion,

But if we want Jesus to follow Jesus in our life we must study to conform ourselves to the example of our heavenly Father :

Matt 5:44 but I -- I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those cursing you, do good to those hating you, and pray for those accusing you falsely, and persecuting you,

46. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

To follow that Man's advice we must put aside ourselves and bear the cross of Jesus.

COUNTING the SPIRITUAL COST of FOLLOWING JESUS the DIVINE MESSAIAH !!

Luke 14:25-35 (NASB)...Jesus: Discipleship Tested: BELIEVE ..then...FOLLOW

25 Now large (UNBELIEVING) CROWDS were going along with Him; and He turned and said to them,(warning!)
26 “If anyone comes to (FOLLOWS) Me, (put Jesus FIRST!)
and (E.G.) does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters,
yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. (TRUE FOLLOwER)
27 Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me (FOLLOWS) cannot be My disciple.
28 For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and CALCULATE the COST to see if he has enough to complete it?
(E.G.)29 Otherwise, when he has laid a FOUNDATION (BELIEF!)and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him,
30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
(E.G.)31 Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to encounter the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.
33 So then, (E.G.) none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.(put Jesus FIRST!)
34 “Therefore, salt (FOLLOWERS) is good (PRESERVATION + SEASONING);
but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned?
35 It is useless either for the soil or for the manure pile; it is thrown out.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

24 Then Jesus said to His DISCIPLES, (saved believers!)
“If anyone wishes to COME AFTER Me (use Me as an example and model, he MUST:
>>1. deny himself, AND (spiritually put God, family, neighbors, world...BEFORE SELF)
>>2. take up his cross AND (spiritually bear sacrificial burdens of trusting and obeying)
>>3. follow Me. (spiritually imitate the perfect example of Jesus and His precepts)
25 For whoever wishes to save his (spiritual) life will lose it;
but whoever loses his (earthly) life for My sake will find it.
26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole (material) world and forfeits his soul (/spirit)?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul (/spirit)?
27 For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, (Second Coming !)
and will then repay every man (believer) according to his deeds. (Judgment of the Believer's Works after salvation)

Jesus as a baby sent to this world was 'the Babe of Bethlehem'. Through Him we are 'born again'

How wonderful to follow the Man of Galilee

He will do miracles for us as He did in Cana of Galilee!

He can still 'turn water into wine!' He still does miracles today! 'What he says to you,do it!'

'Here comes Jesus! See Him walking on the water...'
