Flawed Logic of Gay Christians

This thread concerns the flawed logic of persons justifying homosexual behavior. I have seen many reasons posted as to why people think homosexual behavior is okay. However, if these reasons are true, then the logic should follow through to all things. Here are some popular reasons I have seen posted, and why you cannot say homosexual behavior is okay based on these “logical” reasons.

• Jesus never mentioned homosexuality.

Flawed Logic: Jesus also never mentioned incest, polygamy, pedophilia, necrophilia.... are those okay too?

• Why would a loving God hate love?

Flawed Logic: If I love my sister and she turns me on sexually, is it okay to have sex with her?

• Animals do it.

Flawed Logic: Animals also eat their young and some female animals kill their male counterparts after mating. Should we do this too? My dog “positions himself” on my leg periodically… is he thinking sex with humans is okay, and if so, does that mean humans and animals can have sex since animals do it?

• It’s genetic; it would unnatural for me to be heterosexual.

Flawed Logic: Men turned on by animals and children feel the same way – it would be unnatural for them to have sex with humans or adults.

• You should not deny happiness to someone.

Flawed Logic: What if children and animals make me happy?

• Monogamous same-sex relationships are okay; it’s just being promiscuous that’s a sin.

Flawed Logic: So if I JUST have sex with my sister, and only my sister, is that okay?


In no way am I condoning any behaviors mentioned in this thread, just merely pointing out the flawed logic. If your reason for thinking homosexual behavior is okay does not follow through to all other activities, then it is flawed logic.

This is an immensly flawed argument if you can demonstrate how consensual monogamous homosexual relations are comporable to something like A) Incest (which I dont think is nessecerily wrong if 100% consensual.. icky yes.. but not wrong) which often involves rape or coercion. B) Polygamy - where theres a high risk of harming others in the group relationship through feelings such as jealousy, C) Pedophilia (which is unconsensual and explots those unable to give consent) and D) Necrophilia (which while not nessecerily "hurting" anyone can obviously hurt relatives of the deceased etc..) then youd have an argument. All the above things as a rule are seen as wrong by secular society due to rational reasoning for them being wrong. Homosexuality is not at all like your given examples.

If its genuinally consensual... I dont see it being a big deal, fairly icky to me for sure but just because somethings icky dosent mean its nessecerily immoral. Love is love.

Potentially agree with you on this one, but its not an argument I would use or care about whatsoever.

Oh dear, equating consensual homosexuality with unconsensual sex once more. Pedophilia and Beastiality dont rely on informed consent and quite frankly the more I see an individual as a pretty unpleasent person to dare equate consensual relationships with unconsensual sex, its pretty much the most unchristian thing EVER to do. But thanks, it further convinces me im in the right.

See above this is one of the most supremely ignorant and offensive posts ive ever had the missoppurtunity to set my eyes on. Such a loving thing to say.. just like Jesus would do right?

As said above, it its entirely consensual and lacks any coercion on eithers part I cant see an issue with it.

When Sarah and Abraham (who were half-siblings, by the way) could not conceive, Abraham had sex with Sarah's handmaiden, Hagar and impregnated her. Hagar was angry with Sarah for letting Abraham have sex with her. Sarah was later angered when she saw her son playing with Hagar's son and told Hagar that her son would not inherit along with Isaac and then demanded Abraham send Hagar away.

So, by Biblical standards, could the husband to a barren woman sleep with, say, the babysitter and get her pregnant? After all, the Bible says that Abraham was "the father to all the righteous". Apparently he found favor in God's eyes, despite committing adultery.

Lot offered up his virgin daughter to be raped by a gang of men so that the angels would be spared the attack.

Obviously the model family has changed since Biblical times. People say, "well, God's Word never changes." Then why do Christian ignore Levitical Law in favor of the New Covenant? Did Jesus not say He came to fulfill the Law, not abolish it?

Homosexual and Transexual people are different in that they have never known any other kind of feeling or thinking. People that prey on children did not start out doing such. They started out at probably 15 or 16 years old having a preference for the opposite sex if they were born heteosexual, or of the same sex if they were born homosexual.

But, the parts fit mainly for procreational purposes surely? What does this matter in recreational situations where both heterosexuals and homosexuals derive pleasure from their partner, despite whether or not the pieces fit? Are you saying that homosexuals are really feigning sexual pleasure simply because the pieces don't fit? I really don't think that that is the case.

By the way, I don't know where else to ask this question but is this forum currently experiencing technical difficulties? It takes me forever simply to navigate from page to page ...even to access the forum at times. Sometimes I even give up and come back later. Is it the forum 'at fault' or is it my Internet connection?

Yep!! The parts certainly fit for procreational purposes. That is what God created. Logically, would God have created parts that He intended would not fit? Mmmm.... not likely.

And how do you justify equating the legally protected act of consensual intercourse between two adults with pedophilia or any of the other above examples?

No, see I care for and feel empathy for other humans, until they do something that strips thats respect away. The biggest sin in my eyes is to attempt to harm someone who has done not a thing to you and doesn't deserve it. By lieing about and attempting to to deny rights to homosexuals who would have no impact on your life at all, you have committed this transgression and shown you are not worthy of empathy in return. People like you are why I no longer have a family out side my brothers and partners. People like you are why I have trouble getting a job. People like you are why I cannot live quiet life free from harassment.

Again, the parts where not designed for homosexuality. Even those that believe in "evolution" have to agree that human homosexual sexual contact is not natural.
