I was just reading another post and it has me thinking about the five loaves and seven loaves. I'm wondering if there is a deeper meaning to the story because when David came to Ahimelech and asked for bread, he said:
Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present. (1Sa 21:3)
He asked for five! Why five?
When Yeshua fed the multitude, there were five loaves.
When they gathered the fragments from the five loaves, there were twelve baskets left over.
David asked for five loaves, but there were twelve loaves of showbread.
Yeshua also fed a multitude with seven loaves, and He fed the multitude with five loaves - 12 loaves total.
So is there maybe a lesson in this about the showbread?
Why did they only gather seven baskets leftover from seven loaves? Isn't seven the number of an oath?
Any thoughts?
