Ephesians 2:8-9 TNIV
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Do we understand what this means? What gift God has given? The sacrifice Jesus made for our immortal souls? We, being temptable and imperfect. Unworthy and wretches by nature were bought with the Blood of Jesus Christ. Nothing we could ever do could earn this kind of Love. Bought by our Lord, to save us from our own failure. Thank Jesus for the Cross he chose to bear in our place. For paying the debt we could not afford.
Matthew 6 TNIV
1 "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' in front of others, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
We must be content and happy in doing God's work. Selfish needs and gratification are not of the Lord. This life is fleeting and the example we set should be for the Glory of the Lord. Give Glory to Jesus and seek none for yourself. What can we do that God has not allowed us to do... Had not planned for us to do. The faithful will be with their Father in heaven forever. What human response could compare?
Pray for those who are lost, that they will find a relationship with Jesus Christ.
