That's what happens when you jump en masse onto treatments that seek a complete overhaul on the human body (a structure which has taken millions of years just to adapt to the conditions before we invented agriculture) because you listened to some loser who couldn't hack a STEM major and went into social sciences or grievance studies.

Most of these parents who do this probably meet diagnostic criteria for Munchausen by proxy.
