That's kind of what I was thinking. Why would he keep anything incriminating

No rational person would do it. But no rational person would have stolen the documents to begin with. Let's see what turns up.

And now republicans in Congress are outraged to learn that laws apply to them just like everyone else:

Almost uniformly, GOP lawmakers responded with outrage over a sitting member of Congress having his phone seized, as though being elected makes one exempt from the law. In reality, the fact that powerful people are theoretically subjected to the same laws as less powerful people is a tenet of democracy.

In a statement to Fox News, Perry himself expressed outrage “that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress.”

House GOP leaders were in lockstep on what effectively amounts to a "members of Congress should be immune from investigation” line of attack, too.

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik called it an “absolute outrageous abuse of power to seize the cell phone of a sitting member of Congress.” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said the Justice Department's "targeting" of Trump and members of Congress amounted to “abusive tactics.” And House Minority Whip Steve Scalise said seizing the phone of a “Trump ally in Congress” is a sign of “failed dictatorships.”

“We can’t tolerate it in America,” Scalise said.

Republicans weren’t up in arms over the Collins investigation or the conviction. And when the FBI raided the home of Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, earlier this year, House GOP leaders certainly weren’t falling over themselves coming to his defense.

So what’s changed? The target of these investigations.
After Scott Perry's phone seizure, House GOPers seem shocked to learn laws apply to them

The entitlement should be astonishing to normal Americans, but after all this, it probably is to be expected.

I think we can say the notorious defenders of law and order see themselves as exempt from said law and order. They're not hypocrites, just lawmakers doing their job

This one is funny too.^_^

Fly aside, that man has a fascinating head of gray hair. It's, like, perfectly gray but not old, if that makes sense.

It's like the Silver Fox- Charlie Rich. A man with a head of hair like that can go places. I would so love to see Mike Pence sing this song. ^_^

FBI took boxes and documents in Trump search, sources say

The FBI took boxes and documents while executing a search warrant at former President Donald Trump's home in Florida on Monday, two sources confirmed to CBS News. No electronics were taken, according to the sources.

Trump said Monday night that his Mar-a-Lago resort was being "raided" by the FBI. Sources confirmed to CBS News that the search was connected to a Justice Department investigation that was prompted by the National Archives earlier this year, when the agency said it found 15 boxes of presidential records, including classified material, at Mar-a-Lago.

One official said some or possibly all of the seized documents contained classified material.

This is a concern, because Trump was supposed to have turned over all classified material stolen from the WH when the National Archives came to get it. There's something very odd about hiding all that material. Apparently, Trump doesn't want to talk about what it was he had hidden.

Trump took the 5th over 400 times in that questioning.I guess that's to be expected. After all, when she was being questioned about emails, Hillary took the 5th, exactly (Barbarian checks) zero times.

Maybe there's a good reason for the difference.
