The Biden administration has been under heavy criticism as Joe Biden’s Justice Department targets peaceful pro-life Americans for protesting abortions in such as a way that they blocked access to an abortion center.

The Justice Department has charged 11 more pro-life activists with violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act for blocking the entrance of an abortion clinic in 2021. The 11 activists were charged with FACE Act violations stemming from their 2021 “blockade” of an abortion clinic in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

I am quite serious about defunding the FBI and replacing it with a new agency. We need to look to the whistleblowers who have been forced out because of their insistence on following the U.S. Constitution.

We don't need to defund the FBI. We need a change in political leadership.

Here's the law: 18 U.S. Code § 248 - Freedom of access to clinic entrances

Here's a video of those arrested: rescue-1-draft-2-compressed-subtitles - ConnectTN Video

This was a clear violation of the FACE Act.
Compare that with Antifa and BLM protesters who were NOT arrested, and the thugs that Democrat politicians allow to rule our large cities. We need a justice system that will treat BLM protesters the same as pro-lifers if either group blocks a freeway. The same for any of those who commit violence. We don't have that today and the country is falling apart. Just because you are a Democrat does not mean that you won't find yourself in a minority in the future. So you should be outraged at the disparity of treatment and you need to speak up.

Is there a federal law against blocking a freeway?

And plenty of antifa and BLM protestors/rioters were arrested and charged with crimes. Are there any specific cases that you'd like to discuss?

Thousands were arrested.

More than 10,000 people have been arrested in protests decrying racism and police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s death, according to an Associated Press tally of known arrests across the U.S.

The count has grown by the hundreds each day as protesters spilled into the streets and encountered a heavy police presence and curfews that give law enforcement stepped-up arrest powers.

Los Angeles has had more than a quarter of the national arrests, followed by New York, Dallas and Philadelphia. Many of the arrests have been for low-level offenses such as curfew violations and failure to disperse. Hundreds were arrested on burglary and looting charges.

Los Angeles Chief Michel Moore told the city’s Police Commission Tuesday the bulk of the arrests, about 2,500, were for failure to disperse or curfew violations.

The rest were for crimes including burglary, looting, assaults on police officers and other violence, Moore told the panel, which functions as the police department’s civilian oversight board.

The only other U.S. city with an arrest toll that comes close to Los Angeles’ is New York, with about 2,000, according to AP’s tally.

AP tally: Arrests at widespread US protests hit 10,000

It’s a common refrain from some of those charged in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and their Republican allies: The Justice Department is treating them harshly because of their political views while those arrested during last year’s protests over racial injustice were given leniency.

Court records tell a different story.

An Associated Press review of court documents in more than 300 federal cases stemming from the protests sparked by George Floyd’s death last year shows that dozens of people charged have been convicted of serious crimes and sent to prison.

The AP found that more than 120 defendants across the United States have pleaded guilty or were convicted at trial of federal crimes including rioting, arson and conspiracy. More than 70 defendants who’ve been sentenced so far have gotten an average of about 27 months behind bars. At least 10 received prison terms of five years or more.

Records rebut claims of unequal treatment of Jan. 6 rioters

I'm not, nor have I ever been, a Democrat. I first registered to vote as a Republican in 1985 and remained a Republican until 2020. I'm now registered as an unaffiliated voter. As can be seen in this post I made back in 2019, I was still registered as a Republican at that time.

Don't know, but possibly not. Responsibility (and I believe ownership) of federal highways is taken by the states. It almost certainly is a crime in each state. The Federal government does provide the bulk of the funding for federal highways and their maintenance.

DoJ press release on the arrests: Eleven Charged With FACE Act Violations Stemming From 2021 Blockade OF Mount Juliet Reproductive Health Clinic

Some highlights:

A federal indictment unsealed today charges eleven individuals with violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act

The indictment alleges that ... Chester Gallagher utilized social media to promote a series of anti-abortion events scheduled ... . Other co-conspirators then utilized Facebook to coordinate travel and logistics and to identify other participants for the blockade.

The indictment further alleges that ... the 11 individuals, aided and abetted by one another, used force and physical obstruction to injure, intimidate, and interfere with employees of the clinic and a patient who was seeking reproductive health services.

If convicted, those charged with conspiracy face up to 11 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000. Others face up to one year in prison for the misdemeanor offense and fines of up to $10,000.

The 87 year old is a serial pest for this. In 2017, she claimed to have been arrested more than 40 times for similar activities.

These individuals live streamed the event up. The video shows them entering the property without permission, refusing to leave when requested, physically blocking doorways, corridors and the entry/exit and blocking the work of staff and those seeing to access healthcare services at the clinic.

Seems like pretty damming evidence. @Valletta are you suggesting that the DoJ selectively enforce Federal law in such an open and shut case?

She was charged with FACE.
The Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act of 1994 (FACE) makes it a federal crime to physically obstruct the entrance to a clinic or to use force, the threat of force, or physical obstruction, such as a sit-in, to interfere with, injure, or intimidate clinic workers or women seeking abortions or other reproductive health services.
So she wasn't peaceful at all.

Sorry, people can see for themselves. How many BLM protesters who blocked the freeway in Minneapolis were arrested for blocking the freeway? They almost killed a truck driver who had no idea the freeway was blocked? Look at the non-violent protesters at the Capitol, the ones who were either motioned toward the Capitol by security or walked right past security without saying a thing? Due process is an important hallmark of our country. Each person should be treated the same no matter what race, religion, or political persuasion. Was Hillary Clinton's residence raided? Were Joe or Hillary's associates handcuffed and shackled? How many on social media were shut down because they preached abortion or green fanaticism?

Conservatives need to learn that the FBI (along with a majority of the whole federal apparatus) is their enemy and act with the understanding that said institutions will be hostile. The Government under Joe Biden (a so called Catholic) has made it clear, abortion to them is sacred and will be defended to the maximum extent.

What happened to the "law and order" republican party? It seems like so many republicans think that if someone is a republican they should be treated with kid gloves. If you break the law you should expect to have consequences just like anyone else.

Actually just equal treatment under the law.

The FBI is the federal law enforcement arm of the duly elected government of the United States. It is not illegitimate. People may disagree with the government, but calling the government an "enemy" would be inflammatory rhetoric that is anti-American.

Never said it was illegitimate, only that it is a hostile entity to prolife groups. At least under a Democrat President.

The FBI is not hostile to Catholics and doesn't target religious minorities merely for having different or particular religious beliefs- that idea is deeply offensive and un-American. Are you not aware that a quarter of the US is Catholic? Catholics occupy some of the highest positions in the United States in terms of authority.

Never said the FBI was hostile to Catholics. only that it is hostile to Pro-lifers. Joe Biden's primary loyalty, above his loyalty to God and his Church, is to abortion and he seeks to use the Federal government against his rivals to ensure his base (you) that he is acting in their interests in promoting abortion. He knows his enemies (pro-lifers) and is acting against them.

I don't care if you find the reality of the situation offensive. If Donald Trump were President this would not be happening and if It did I would be telling the pro-life movement the same thing.

That's simply an exaggeration at best. Being a Catholic does not require a particular politics. Only Catholic integralists and reactionaries believe otherwise.

and he seeks to use the Federal government against his rivals to ensure his base (you) that he is acting in their interests in promoting abortion. He knows his enemies (pro-lifers) and is acting against them.

The US government, including FBI, operates under the rule of law, not personal vendettas.

I don't care if you find the reality of the situation offensive. If Donald Trump were President this would not be happening and if It did I would be telling the pro-life movement the same thing.

There's a difference between incendiary propaganda and a fair analysis of the situation.
