I like that he's about to start a war with Iran.

No worries, it's all part of the art of the deal.

I'm enjoying watching the Republicans burn down the government of the country they claim to love in the name of power. Growing up conservative I never would of thought that the party I identified with with become so extreme as to ignore basic principles of constitutional governance.

I like that a lot of people aren't hiding who they are any more. It's good to know the truth.

I have a bunch of Facebook friends who can no longer claim the moral high ground. It's great.

Whether or not one favors his policies, he is a hard worker and he is not in this for the money. That's a change from some of what we have known in the past.

I don't believe either of those things to be true, to be honest. Unless you want to say he's a hard worker but not a smart worker. So often he has shown a staggering lack of understanding for the policies being discussed. For example, when Obamacare was at the forefront for those few months, he talked about health insurance as if it were life insurance. That's not some kind of simple mistake, that's a fundamental lack of understanding about what is being discussed.

As for not in it for the money, I do not like that he so often stays at his own properties and our tax dollars put money in his coffers to pay for the Secret Service and others to stay there. It isn't illegal, but it certainly is netting him money for going to Mar-A-Lago and other places.

Is that estimation based on his frequent golf outings or his excessive amounts of executive time?

"Not in it for the money" also remains to be seen. He did, after all, once say publicly that he could probably make money off campaigning.

What a surprise. However, the thread asks what--for each of us--the favorite thing about the Trump presidency is.

For me, it is either that the president is a hard worker or that he isn't in it for the money.

Same here. I like to remind them of that when they start pointing their judgmental finger at some liberal politician or at liberals in general or when they start preaching about morality or against sin. I remind them that they have lost their credibility to do any of that because they support Trump.

I cited some evidence to back up what I said. I didn't just say "I don't believe that".

None of that so-called evidence actually was evidence, however.

That rather peculiar theory about Trumps understanding of Obamacare is only a personal opinion; and him traveling to his own residence on occasion, which all presidents who have one do, is not a money-maker for Trump.

That is especially apparent, considering that he returns his own presidential salary to the US Treasury! How many previous presidents have done that?

Yes, that is ironic considering how he once said he wouldn't take vacations and he didn't have time for golf. In fact, he said that he would rarely leave the White House. And once upon a time, he apparently enjoyed going after former President Obama for his golfing habits. He apparently enjoyed that a lot.

Trump Criticized Obama for Golfing. Now He Spends Weekends on the Links.

The 27 times Donald Trump tweeted about Barack Obama playing golf too much

But as it turns out, he has worked up a very impressive golf count for himself.

    Trump's Golf Count: 175

    Cost to Taxpayer: About $99,000,000**

Did you know that he had a $50,000 golf simulator installed inside the White House?

President Trump installed a room-sized golf simulator at White House

Everything he does (and doesn't do) appears to show the exact opposite. Everything he does is stripped down to the minimum: minimum reading, minimum time spent on briefings, minimum thought about anything. It's all just ill considered action (and tweets) for short term gain. He's spent far less time at work than the reporters he doesn't want in the WH.

I'll go ahead and agree with you that he works pretty hard, or at least, harder than I would be working at his age and at his income level. I also think being the president is not an easy gig, no matter who it is doing it.

As for 'not in it for the money'.... I'll just point out that Trump is probably now the most widely publicized, most talked about person in history.

    That's worth something.

Well, he does have to think of words he can use to comprise a complete tweet of 280 characters. It could be a challenge for him since he obviously terrible at spelling. And that's not mention that he's a 72 year old man with the speech level of a fourth-grader. I think it's kind of sad he thinks he's really smart and a very stable genius. He obviously doesn't have one of the greatest memories of all time.

...and yet I have just read from another poster that he spends too much time communicating with the public. It cannot be true both ways at once.
