  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello all!

I was inspired to start this thread from a post in another thread. Let us marvel at the proclamation of the Gospel in all our churches! Post your 'favorites' please.

Here are a few of mine to hopefully get the ball rolling...

The holy resurrection proclaimed in English by a Coptic Orthodox deacon. I don't know what his name was as a deacon, but he is now Fr. Andrew Iskander.

Matthew 16:13-21, for the consecration of Kidane Miheret Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Kitchner, Ontario Canada. I assume that this is either in Ge'ez, the classical language of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian empire, or in Amharic, the modern official language of Ethiopia.

The Psalm and the Gospel, prayed in Arabic by Dn. Bishoy El Qamos Daniel, presented here not because he has the best voice in the world, but because from what I've been able to gather he is one of the martyrs of the church bombing in Tanta a little while ago. May he intercede for us before the throne of God, together with all the holy martyrs.

Very odd one: video title says it is proclaiming the Gospel in Hebrew language, but in Alqosh, which is a town in Iraq that is heavily associated with the Chaldean Catholic Church...where nobody speaks Hebrew. I don't know if the title or location are wrong, but that's what is apparently happening here. It is definitely not Syriac.

Not to be outdone, here's a Coptic Orthodox priest proclaiming the Gospel in German, because the Church of St. Mary at which he serves is in Dusseldorf, so it's what we can and should do. :)
