Father James is the editor at large for America Magazine.

I hope people who have sometimes hinted or said that America Magazine was an inappropriate source for Catholic news will consider this appointment as an element to be considered in assessing it's appropriateness going forward.

I think that most of the people (and perhaps all) who have criticized Fr. Martin aren't too thrilled with Pope Francis, either

While some grudgingly offer support it usually seems inadequate and insincere.

I have added qualifiers in case anyone thinks I'm addressing them. I'm not.

I, on the other hand, love Fr. James Martin's writing and videos, and hope to be able to read his latest book on how the Church should relate to its gay parishioners and the gay community as a whole.

As was indicated on another thread the Jesuit magazine "America Magazine" has forbidden the labelling of bishops , priests etc as "Liberal" , "Conservative" etc by any contributors to the magazine .
