fasting from mirrors

A few months ago a friend of mine told me that she's fasted from looking at herself in mirrors for a week! she said she just covered them with towels and it was amazing what God showed her. Aperently she spend more time in looking at herself in a mirror than she thought, and was really able to spend some awesome time with God. so anyways, i thought i would share that with you guys, i thought it was cool

I was just interested, what about looking in the mirror did she find make her able to fast or grow closer to God? That's some serious strength and I was just wondering if it was because she saw what a beautiful person God made her or what. Thanks.
