Fasting and Protein Shakes Question....

Hi everyone:wave:

I've been thinking about going on an extended fast by consuming only protein/vitamin shakes. I try to keep in shape by working out everyday, and I keep my protein intake high by consuming high protein meals and shakes in order to not lose muscle.

Has anyone here ever tried this type of fast? If so, what was the end result?

I'm no medical expert, but I think an all-protein diet would be very unhealthy. Bodies need carbs--they are our primary energy source. "Low carb" is not the same thing as "no carb", which is what you're talking about. Type "ketoacidosis" into a medical website and see what it says, then think about whether that much protein, and nothing else, is a good idea.
