I've come to the conclusion ideas like this are an attempt to add more prestige to one's lineage rather than any serious work of history that offers an alternative other than the Celtic/Saxon/Angles origins of the English. After all if you have a direct descent from Abraham that must mean God favours you, no?

There is the same phenomena with black Hebrew Israelites, but they are way more entertaining.

I'm still trying to understand this topic, but being God's people isn't about race, so why do people want to trace their ancestry to Israel? Don't we all descend from Noah if we believe there was a universal flood?
If we find something in Scripture about God's doing that describes the doings of God's people, is it our first instinct to say, "Why would God do that? I need answers before I will accept his word?" :sigh:
