I take it that you're talking about Darwinism and not adaptation. The data being gathered on the mechanism does not support this.
AV, you want to have a world where there are things off-limits for science and reason. You want to compartmentalize a section of the world that you perceive to be the "Goddidit" domain. It's a good thing that us science people are willing to dig into your "Goddidit" domain, and actually find out why things happen, rather than be satisfied with "oh because God made it that way/wants it that way/whatever".
The case and point is with your interpretation of David's disease. You claim that since the Bible calls it "strange" it MUST be a "Goddidit" scenario. You claim that this is a disease that is off-limits for science. Well what if that disease was tuberculosis? What if it was cancer? What if it was complications of HIV infection? Your narrow-mindedness would lead to the destruction of free inquiry (and the discovery of life-saving treatments) if everyone in the world thought like you.

Nevermind ... just nevermind.
As an IRL doctor-in-training, I would just like to say that many diseases we have could be described as "strange" or "coming from God" without them being literally some "super disease" that isn't around today. Like I said before, they probably would have been impressed by jaundice.
Gotta be be the smartest response I've ever seen AV make -- kudos.
And even now we literally have 'super-bugs' forming because of evolution and adaptation. Antibiotic resistant staph infections, multi-drug resistant TB...etc etc. Dangerous stuff.
And then we have the 'evil' diseases that if not contained could wipe out a significant chunk of the population. (Things like Ebola virus scare the bejeezus out of me)

But one thing we can always be sure about:
I'm curious if he actually posted it, or just deleted it while typing the response and left [deleted] to let us know. If he did actually post it... what did he say?
Some people are IMMUNE? <<Staff Edit>>Seriously, man. Ebola would thin the herd for sure. I remember reading a while ago that the only time they ever found a way to treat it during an outbreak in Africa was to purify the antibodies of the few people who were immune to it and inject them into people who were in the early stages of the disease. It wasn't even that effective. Scary.
This is about Almighty God; and I'd say it's presumptuous (but your prerogative) to say that God could send something He calls 'strange', and you guys could figure it out.
Some people are IMMUNE? <<Staff Edit>>
Don't know, don't care -- nothing AV is capable of saying would've been smarter at that point than "nevermind."
Who said God sent the Black Plague? So when god sent the black plague to a society that had been in the scientifically persecuted dark ages of the church for centuries... and kills 1/3 to 2/3 of the European population... what was the goal of that? (And these were all god-fearing, church going peoples as well!)
Some people are IMMUNE? <<Staff Edit>>
Ah, OK. So what, did you set it differently?I never said that wasn't the case. You claimed a particular statement about 'my' computer's calendar was a fact; I pointed out that that fact doesn't quite correspond to reality.
You are misinformed. The fossils are actually not that old.Well it did take many, many generations. The world has been around for about 4 to 5 billion years. The first fossil evidence of life dates to about 3.5 billion years ago. That's a long, long time. About 150,000,000 generations, assuming a generation is about 30 years.
evolution is slow the world has existed for billions of years (you will probebly deny this as well) it took billions of years of life to get where it is today and please dad stop contradicting yourself in your posts it is so funny.
I would enjoy speaking in schools...
Is that some evo naysayer? I would love to deeply disrespect her if so!-- How dare you disrespect Madayln Murray O'Hair.
