It seems to me that the theory of evolution is a problem for religions that claim humans are fundamentally different spiritually from animals, plants, viruses, etc.
The theory of evolution claims that humans descended from early hominids and so on. For a religious person to claim that humans are spiritually different from chimpanzees and simultaneously accept the theory of evolution seems incoherent to me.
For example, to claim that humans go to Heaven and chimpanzees do not go to Heaven seems to be in conflict with the theory of evolution.
There are humans with brain problems who are less intelligent than chimpanzees, and there are some humans who are much more intelligent than ordinary humans.
I hope this post makes sense. I can try to clarify the issue if needed.
