All money is fungible. You could (and probably will) ask this same question about any sum of money that Hunter receives. Maybe you (and the House investigators) should put more effort into discovering a crime, and then investigate the details.

As it is, any money that passes through Hunter's hands might have been used to buy drugs, anti-aircraft missiles, biological weapons, a prizefighter dive, a fake ID, smuggled Precolumbian antiquities or contraband elephant ivory.

Without evidence of a crime, money is just money. Everybody's got some.
Or hookers, or Crack, or a gun (illegally).

And now for the prize money, is there

EVIDENCE showing the President

was involved in Hunter's purchase of any of those things?

I'm more interested in his involvement in Hunter getting the money in the first place (much of which went to "The Big Guy", or "Pop").

There is a reasonable articulable suspicion of wrongdoing

That’s why an inquiry is needed.
And now that all the witnesses have said there's nothing to this, is it time to move on to something more productive? You know, like maybe preventing a government shutdown?

Or should they keep investigating even when everyone with knowledge of the situation is saying there's nothing there?

There is a difference in suspicion and evidence. Evidence is not a requirement at this point. Evidence is needed to impeach not to inquire about impeachment.

At some point it would seem the complete lack of evidence would matter to the GOP.

That's why Rudy Giuliani, Lev Parnas, and Devon Archer need to testify.
They are all direct evidence witnesses, and not anything like these set of witnesses who kindly took time off their right wing talk punditry and provided absolutely nothing germane. To no one's surprise, Comer and the clown car won't have that happen.

Well hey, since the GOP are all about oversight of influence peddling, I'm sure they will get right on that.
Comer, himself it looks shady, but he's too busy trying to pull a rabbit out the hat.
Was Kushner still serving in cabinet when he received the payment?

I think we already established that, but be careful, you're making an argument for the Biden's. But apparently to Comer and the gang it doesn't matter if anyone was still a member of government or not.

If he did something wrong he should be held accountable . The articles indicate the investment was after he left the White House and it was an investment not a payment.

I hold the view, that if he did something wrong he should be held accountable. As you just stated, you hold that view. But unfortunately the current Oversight committee holds the view that it depends on who was doing wrong as to who should be held accountable.

Again, there is reason why Jared and wife couldn't pass a security clearance. His actions are exhibit 1 and 1A.
Kushner's FBI background check identified questions about his family's business, his foreign contacts, his foreign travel and meetings he had during the campaign, the sources said, declining to be more specific.

It is Biden’s DOJ that bears that responsibility not the oversight committee. And they blocked attempts to open an investigation into Biden
