Its like with evolution - constant mutations in organisms till some gets to be advantageous.

There are so many episodes of simpsons that eventually some of them happen in real life too.

Well Trump has been talking about running for a while. I've even seen him talk about it during the 1980s. So the idea of him being president in fiction (at the time) isn't too out of left field.

Well, the show has been on since 1989 and done nearly 700 episodes, so it's likely they touched on just about every topic. It is funny they predicted Trump, but they probably just picked the most bizarre and unlikely person to win. If you had asked me who was the most bizarre choice to be used in a comedy, an adulterous corrupt businessman and reality tv star running on an evangelical platform would've been my guess too.
