Many years.

Are we guilty of heresy of ethnophyletism (this heresy holds that the Church should organise/divide herself on the basis of ethnicity and race, not geography or established traditions/canons)?

Been wondering about this since I am not sure whether the schismatic Churches such as Macedonian, Montenegrin and Ukrainian Orthodox that are out of communion should actually be given the status they are asking for.

This would certainly constitute enthnophyletism - however, I see no difference from them asking for their autocephaly and from what the rest of the Orthodox Churches have achieved.

What are your thoughts?

Well , the Orthodox church in North America is most certainly under phyletism, if one reads what phyletism is on the official E.P, website.

These churches may very well be granted autocephaly or whatever staus there seeking. For instance FYROM is now internationally recognized as its own country, FYROM has Orthodox who call themselves macedonians, others that are greek, many that are serbian ,also bugarians. If all these groups unite (and campaign?) to form one official Orthodox church it may be granted. Of course all these ethnic groups do not want to co-mingle and simply do not trust each other, so within this tiny land, people will prefer to have ties to bishops from their own lands that they trust.
