No, it points out real concerns. So if someone is legitimately concerned about their rights, is it wrong for them to voice those concerns, or should that be OK to discuss?

The article is disingenuous bull dung, a completely baseless set pile of garbage, exactly what you would expect from right-wing "Christian" "journalism".

The Equality Act would apply the same protections that presently apply to people on the basis of their race, religion, sex, national origin, and ethnicity to people on the basis of their sexual orientation (gay, straight, bi) or gender identity (cis or trans).

Do you believe that it should be legal for a business to fire someone for being LGBTQ? Do you believe it should be legal for a hotel, apartment complex, mortgage company, home seller or realtor to deny housing to a person for being LGBTQ? Do you believe that it should be legal for a school that receives public funding to expel or deny admission to someone for being LGBTQ? Do you believe that it should be legal to refuse to seat someone on a jury because they are LGBTQ? Do you believe it should be legal for a restaurant, store, medical office, attorney's office or other vendor to refuse service to someone simply because they are LGBTQ?

If you are a decent person, you oppose all of these things, and thus you should support a law, which is using basically the same language as the Civil Rights Act, to extend the same protections contained in the Civil Rights Act to LGBTQ persons.

There is nothing in Christian morality that demands that one support discrimination against LGBTQ people in terms of employment, housing, public accommodation, education, or jury service.

Well thanks for making your bias and prejudice clear.

Well thanks for making your bias and prejudice clear.
My bias is in favor of equality under the law for all Americans.

As a Christian, my bias is for real forms of the faith, not the perversions foisted upon American by the "Christian" right.

Ok, gotcha. You are right, anyone who disagrees with you is wrong end of discussion. Now let's use that attitude to pass some legislation!

Anyone who supports discriminating against people in employment, housing, education, public accommodation, etc, is wrong. That is a basic American value.
I agree, but this is a bait & switch. Deflecting by demonizing, and that is also wrong.

There's no bait and switch here, and those who think it should be legal to deny LGBTQ people a job, housing, eduction, or public accommodation because of their sexual orientation or gender identity demonize themselves by being garbage people.

And are those that think this legislation has unintended consequences and/or could be done better, are they "garbage people" too?

They're either garbage people who want to be able to discriminate against LGBTQ people without being called out for their bigotry, or they're easily-fooled people who don't understand the issue who listen to the aforementioned garbage.

Well, there definitely is bigoted garbage going on here, no doubt.

Then why not list one for discussion? As has been pointed out the article contains a bunch of issues that are not aligned with reality so it would be easier to address one issue at a time.

Read the contents of the bill rather than falling for the title of it.
I have. Have you read the entire actual bill text?

(Spoiler alert: aside from the findings section at the front that specifies the discrimination often faced by LGBTQ people and some elements that bring existing caselaw into the Federal Code, the rest of the bill is about adding the words "(including sexual orientation and gender identity)" to various parts of the Federal Code that deal with discrimination in employment, housing, education, public accommodation and jury selection.)

if the concerns are real....why did the author have to lie?

That is exactly the scary part that our conservative colleagues are referring to.
