Genesis 5:22-24

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not: for God took him.

The others listed in the geneology were either said to have walked with God or not, but all regardless are said to have died. Enoch is different.

Does that mean he just disappeared? No physical death? Right? Is he one of those that will come back?

Enoch is supposed to have ascended into heaven I believe? The Book of Enoch gives more details on it.
You believe?
The book of Enoch is not in the Bible.
God says no man has ascended into heaven.
Are you going to believe God or some book from somewhere?

it means God took him. it remains a mystery and it will be revealed in God's timing, if he is one of the two who will return.

Heb. 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Heb. 11:13 These (Noah, Abraham, Sarah) all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of [them], and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Heb. 11:4 (Abel died)

Another question-

Enoch's translation was right before the time of Noah's ark-- 1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

So, we have Enoch and Noah--two ways to 'rise above it'?

the 2 witnesses, spoken of in Revelation...

The two witnesses will be alive and preaching for three and one half years, then be killed and be raised after 3 days all before Christ returns.
During all this time Enoch and Elijah will still be dead awaiting the resurrection.
They can't be the two witnesses.

"All these" is talking about all those who were mentioned
from Heb. 11:4 till verse 13. That includes Enoch.

Abel it says died.

Enoch translated.

The next three are mentioned. These all died.

If your interpretation is accurate, then the bible wouldn't have mentioned that Abel had died. It would have been redundant.

Instead, Abel died, Enoch translated, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, all these died. We already know about Abel, so the these refers to Noah, Abraham, Sarah.

This is not to say that Enoch went to the third heaven, btw.

2 Cor. 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven.

They are both DEAD and will not be resurrected until Jesus returns.
So what's your point?

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Now, we know about Noah, being one of the eight. Perhaps Enoch was taken to a high mountain, then returned to earth to live and die?

Heb 11, as stated above, does not say Enoch "died" as the others.

There are some intersting view points, and the first reply was right as well in that they couldn't find him.

I agree that this may be another one of those things that will be revealed later.

Interesting though.

Thanks :)

Enoch and Elijah were men…
I hate to be the fly in the soup, but Enoch, Elijah and Moses all died and are awaiting the resurrection. None of them ever went to, or are now, in the third heaven alive with God.

1.) Heb. 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment!
2.) 1Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam ALL DIE, even so in Christ ALL SHALL be made alive.
3.) In Jo. 3:13 we learn that Jesus is the only “man” that ever ascended to heaven. “NO ONE has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.”
4.) In Heb. 11:39-40 We read that “ALL THESE died,” (that is all those mentioned earlier in the chapter) and “that they should not be made perfect apart from us.” That includes Enoch
5.) Also in Gen. 5:23 we learn that ALL the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

In Gen. 5:24 we read that God took Enoch, but it never even hints at where God took him. Then Heb. 11:5 Paul uses the word “translated” and the Greek word “metatithemi”
translated, “translated” means to convey to another place. No where does the Bible say where God moved Enoch to.
When one says that Enoch went to heaven they are adding to the Word of God.

As far as Elijah is concerned God also moved him to another location and about ten years later Elijah wrote a letter from Judea that is found in 2 Chron. 21. Just like all men Elijah also died some time later.

Yes Enoch and Elijah died just like all other men. There is no mystery.

Now for Moses. That is really easy. Deut. 34:5-7 So Moses the servant of the LORD DIED there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but no one knows his grave to this day. 7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.
Where do people come up with such strange ideas? Certainly not from the Bible.

So Paul had a vision.....what's your point? sigh!
