Where does emotion fit with respect to your belief in God?

They have nothing to do with ones belief in God.
God is a basic fact that one either accepts or rejects.
As a result of our acceptance of the facts of Jesus's resurrection and how it affects us etc then our emotions kick in.

Otherwise they are as relevent to one's legal ability to drive a car as to whether one is a Christian.

You think your reason is 100% in control of your emotions?

You mean reason is the cause of all your religious imperfections?

there are many reasons for how I live, for my failures etc.

I know I am not a Christian because of an emotional experience, my faith does not depend on how I feel and neither does my eternal destination depend on my emotional state or that of Gods.
