A pop and sparks is most likely the power supply. That can be replaced, but likely not for less than half of what you paid for the laptop already.
I'd recommend buying a new one that has a good warranty. Dell normally do good warranty without having to pay for extended cover. I'd suggest at least 2 year warranty, preferably 3.

What do you mean? Are you have problems posting in certain areas?
It may be that you need to delete your cookies on your browser. That should fix it.
Or if you logout and on the login bit, if you click or double-click the username box, it should show a list of saved/previous logins used, if your sister's is there, hold the cursor over it and press the delete key(not the backspace one, I don't think that'll work, but the delete key in the group of keys with page up, page down, home, end, etc)
If I close myself out in her browser, will I kick myself off the Envy?
