Remember that much of Trump's base consists of blue-collar workers who used to be Democrat.

I'm assuming you mean 1950's southern democrats?

...of all of the Trump supporters I personally know, I don't know any who used to be democrats in terms of social issues, etc.

Not aware of anyone who said "I'm pro-choice, marriage equality, for better safety nets for the poor, pro-union, and pro-gun control...meh, what the heck, I'll vote for someone who's the opposite of all of those"
