I recently stumbled across this new book series by Rachel Aaron, and am really enjoying it. It's a lighter fantasy read that has become a lot more involved and developed as the story has gone on.

Honestly, it reminds me a lot about a fantasy version of pokemon ... maybe that's why I like it so much ....

Hmmm...I picked this up at a SciFi convention and haven't gotten around to reading it. Now I'm wondering if I'll like it. I mean, Pokémon style themes don't interest me. LOL! Oh well, when I finally get around to reading it, I'll find out.

I really enjoyed it. It's pokemon in the fact that there are "spirits" out there, and people who can control them. I thought that the story had great development, and the fifth book did a swell job of ending the series. A satisifying ending that gave closure, yet left you free to imagine what would happen next.
