CNN is just reporting this. It seems as if some waited for Congressman Conyers to resign before going public with their position. They are also reporting that Franken will make an announcement tomorrow.

Wow.... Talk about a snowball gaining strength. A few minutes have passed and the tally is now 10 Democratic Senators calling on him to resign. It seems most unlikely now that he can survive.

He ought to go. It's no good forcing a kiss on a woman and it is no good posing for a photograph giving the appearance (but not the substance) of groping her breasts while she slept.

He should've already resigned.

He set himself up for this.

He didn't see this COMING??

Seriously?

Sickening.

Well.... the count just climbed to now 13 Democratic Senators, plus Republican Susan Collins of Maine. How can he possibly survive now?

Unreal. CNN just reported that it is now 14 Democratic Senators calling for his resignation. The good news for the Dems is that MN has a Dem Governor and it is a Dem state, so they will probably keep Franken's seat. However, it is possible that former Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty could make a strong run, if he chose to do so.

I do not think it is a matter of whether or not his colleagues like him. Let's face it everyone. The #1 topic in the news for the past 4-6 weeks has been sexual harassment and sexual abuse by powerful men against women. I suspect that the Senate Dems just feel that this issue is too hot for them to ignore.

I honestly did not know that. I thought he was well liked by all in his party.

He was. But apparently the Democrats are turning out to be less forgiving of this sort of thing than Republicans are.

Who'd have thought the party of free love, free condoms, sex ed, etc would have taken the moral high ground on the issue of sexual misconduct from the party of family values and devout churchgoers?

LOL, the Democrat party has been claiming the moral high ground for years ... never mind the absence of such values from many of its members.

Which party is calling for the resignation of one of its own for accusations of sexual assault, and which party is calling for the election of one of its own despite accusations of sexual assault?

Which party's advocates claim they represent Christian values and claim that the other party is godless?

Never mind the facts, keep towing them party lines!

It does seem strange, that.

As I've said since I came back, there is a paradigm shift happening. As for the Democrats, it has little to nothing to do with morals, but the "Listen and believe" culture that they've helped foster eating their own.
