Yes. If we are to decipher our dreams in where they originate, their are two different origins- either from Satan or God. But dreams mostly come from the overlying emotion that was last felt before going to bed. But let’s talk about dreams, those that can come from God.

There are two different men in the Bible that dealt with dreams. First, there was Joseph one of twelve brothers. Then there was Daniel, who interpreted dreams during the time of King Nebuchadnezzar.

Fist, let’s take a look at Joseph, a favorite son of Jacob. He is found in the book of Genesis, but for now let’s look at Genesis 37. His first dream was of seven stalks bowing down to his own. What was this talking about? Obesience. Joseph was the youngest of his brothers, and was despised by his brothers because he told them of his dreams. We know the story of Joseph, how his brothers threw him into a pit and how they sold him to Egyptians.

The dream he had laid hold of future fore coming, necessarily famine. Now, we can say that God can show us things in the future. But be wary, because not all dreams come from God. These dreams we will never understand. So, take it in stride and don’t seek to understand why. God works in mysterious ways.

Let’s also take a look at Daniel. He was one such man who interpreted dreams. After his release from jail, he was taken to the king as he was having nightmares and wanted them to be interpreted. Another act of God. And the king in turn, after learning the interpretation, experienced consequences like his dream foretold. You can read this account in Daniel chapter 2. And Daniel is rewarded for glorifying God.

You can say, just as Jesus did miracles when He was on earth, that dreams can also glorify Him- if interpreted correctly. Just as Daniel was elevated at the end of Daniel chapter 2.

So yes, messages can come in the form of a dream. For instance, if we pray for the salvation of someone, and have a dream that this person does accept Jesus into his heart that is coming from God. But be very careful. Satan will trick you. Satan is afterall, the father of lies. But don’t expect God to always answer this way. God is too complex to understand.

And as I have mentioned before, not all dreams are of God. Be wary of your dreams. If you are having nightmares, perhaps something is still fresh on your mind. Anger, confusion-whatever it may be will manifest in your dreams. And if you wish to conquer having nightmares, simply memorize scripture.
