There was a lot of reason to be skeptical of this 3 years ago. But given what has been learned, what has been said, and what he SO DESPERATELY does not want the people to know about, I'm curious if there are still people who would say the above statement is True.

    Personally, I say false.

I find it hard to believe that anyone with Trump's level of bravado and braggadocio would EVER hide physical evidence of how (insert superlative here) he is. That alone makes catagorically NO sense to me.

I dont know the man. Now.. if were talking TODAY.. just search Bing Google and read what comes up. But.. if one had asked BEFORE Trump took office... gee how strange.. many said He was good.

Are we judging based on what we HEAR in the NEWS? Are basing this off what he has done wrong so forth so on? Are we comparing Trump against who? We can compare Trump against countless others where Trump will seem to be the best ever! Then against others.. like not born into wealth so forth so on.. and seem the worst.

For me.. what I DO know.. he loves Jesus Christ. And does think everything he does turns to gold haha... but its that confidence is why he was rich before he took office.. and TRUMP did become president...and will leave office rich. Good businessman? How many in Washington give away their pay check? Many call that a bad businessman. Record low unemployment? Who did this before Trump? Trump never added 6.5 trillion on top of what we ready owe. Iran.. Israel.. N Korea.. on and on. Seems a "businessman" did something right. Did you know there are more jobs NOW then those asking needing jobs?

We heard about how Trump lost what Billion or what ever. Whats strange is ALL the info left out. One Trump talked about it back then.. even wrote about it. And then... whats really strange is how the media left out ALL the PRAISE Trump got for a great come back!

And who are we comparing him against? Is all this about what the MEDIA says? Holy Jesus I pray its not..other wise.. I would never has posted a word.

    Hi rambot,

Well, based on both his current activities and what I know of his past activities...

I think it apparent that he isn't 'competent' in the position that he has placed himself. A competent leader would not spend so much time and rhetoric dividing the people over which he leads. He would know that there isn't any good to be gained from such a tactic. Never has been and never will be. Division leads to distrust and animosity. Neither are good traits to encourage in a nation of people or an office environment. However, Donald Trump has gone on record that he likes it that way. He likes his employees to be 'on edge' constantly. He seems to think that it makes them work better. It would seem that the actual reality of such an atmosphere is that people don't get much done at all.

    My grade on competence....D

'Honest'? Even his own supporters agree that he's fairly loose with the truth.

    Honesty...F

'Successful businessman'? I have, from time to time, followed some of Donald Trump's wheeling and dealings. He isn't particularly successful as I think of a successful businessman. Bill Gates is successful. Jeff Bezos is successful. They are likable people who act in reasonably responsible ways and they don't cock and crow about their wealth like boors often do. As far as I know they haven't either one found it necessary to avail themselves of bankruptcy laws to get out of paying just bills and they provide fairly healthy work environments for their people. In my estimation, Donald Trump is just a successful cheater and crook who operates a very, very small business empire.

Some estimates say that he employees some 22,000 folks. Jeff Bezo's empire employs nearly half a million and that includes the several companies that he oversees. Bill Gates, in his heyday prior to 2008, had over 120,000 employees working at Microsoft. For me, being a successful businessman includes putting others to work and providing them with a reasonably good work environment.

    Successful businessman...C+

    God bless,
    In Christ, ted

He's been reasonably successful expanding the company started by his father and grandmother. There's no good in denying that.

Nobody said he was good. He dragged his ex-wive(s) through the tabloids and was hired for The Apprentice because he was a living caricature of a corporate baron.

    both

Lots of people, including other politicians and business leaders.

We all look good next to Stalin. What the heck kind of standard is that?

Yeah, Mr Two Corinthians who's never felt the need to repent and who orders his shady lawyer to pay off his pornstar girlfriend loves Jesus.

    Bush I & Clinton.

Employment growth rates now are about the same as they were during Obama's term, and the prime age workforce participation rate is still below where it was in the 90s.

Civilian Labor Force Participation Rate: 25 to 54 years

You should look at the actual deficit numbers. He's only been in office for less than 2.5 years and is on track to run up the debt even faster.

What did he do right regarding Iran, Israel, and N Korea? Nothing has been accomplished on any of those fronts yet.

Pretty much everything you wrote was wrong, if not outright absurd.

Trump is a hustler. There are countless people out there who he has stiffed (on payment for products and service) ... and others who he has conned out of their money ...

I've never met President Trump. But various friends of mine did business with him at different times in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. They all say generally similar things: he's honest, talented and smarter than you'd think if all you know about him comes from TV. Their business with Trump yielded above-average profit too.

His portfolio has over 500 items in it. Of those, five turned out to be duds. Anybody who thinks those numbers are something to be ashamed of should probably stay as far away from investing as they possibly can.

In response to all these unsupported criticisms of Trump I will quote Abraham Lincoln. When he was criticized how he was conducting the civil war, he said..
“If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what's said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.”
The Dems have wasted millions of dollars for more than 2 years trying to dig up dirt on Trump, they had scores of expert investigators and they have diddly.

It's hard to fully judge, since we know he lies about his net worth, and won't disclose his financial documents.

We know that he was given over $400 million from his father. It doesn't take tremendous business acumen to be successful with that type of head start.

We know that he's been taken to court (receiving end) more than any other individual person in the US, but it's my understanding that he knows how to leverage his wealth/position to get the better end of people (i.e. dragging it out so that it's financially burdensome for the person trying to sue).

He also seems to be talented at keeping himself financially insulated from his business failures. He leaves investors holding the bag, and makes a tidy profit while his businesses fail (hence US banks stopped loaning to him a long time ago).

He's certainly not an honest businessman - in addition to lying regularly about asset valuation when it suits his purposes, he used to do other shady things, such as calling in praise of himself, while using a fake name.

From what I know, and I admit it's not the "full" picture, his business "success" is simply a product of the fortunate situation he was born into.

I note that the question is about him as a businessman.

Competent: He is ranked as a billionaire and money is the only measure for businessmen. So, I guess the answer to that is yes.

Honest: He is ranked as a billionaire. I doubt an honest person could ever accumulate that much money. I guess the answer to that is no.

Successful: He is ranked as a billionaire. Money is the only measure of success for businessmen. I guess the answer to that is yes.

Sadly, he is now in a job in which nothing is graded like it is in business. He is a fish out of water. Running a nation is completely different than running a business. The skills he used in business are ineffectual in government.

Should he finish his term(s) of office without killing a massive amount of people, we can use this as an object lesson for why successful business people should never be considered presidential candidates.

If you’re referring to the Mueller investigation, you are totally wrong.

It was commissioned by, financed by and supervised by a REPUBLICAN administration...!

And it cost the taxpayer....nothing. Manafort’s forfeitures alone more than paid for Mueller’s work.

And if you think it returned nothing, then you clearly haven’t read his report...
