“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr told the AP.
Is it weird that the AG gets the DoJ and Special Councils to investigate things that there is no evidence for?
"Barr said
U.S. attorneys and FBI agents have been working to follow up specific complaints and information they’ve received, but they’ve
uncovered no evidence that would change the outcome of the election."
"Last month,
Barr issued a directive to U.S. attorneys across the country allowing them
to pursue any “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities,
if they existed, before the 2020 presidential election was certified,
despite no evidence at that time of widespread fraud."
Also the "investigate the origins" which turned out to have "no political bias" and was determined to be an appropriately started investigation.
Whilst the AG refused to investigate the Ukraine incident in which there was credible evidence for.
Bill Barr's big failings as a "credible" attorney general have been with regards to his public rhetoric, his willingness to parrot Trump memes and talking points, his willingness to open investigations favouring Trump without supporting evidence, his unwillingness to open investigations into Trump with supporting evidence, his willingness to intervene in ongoing investigations and to pull charges from Trump allies e.g. Flynn.
But at least he hasn't gone as far as fabricating evidence and charging people with trumped up charges.
