Can Non-Christian Rituals or Incantations Invisibly Destroy the Good of Holy Images?

Could it possibly be Monastery Icons again ?

It's possible that it is Monastery Icons that Michie is talking about, but without a picture we couldn't say for sure.

The image itself if properly done should be ok. Icons can always be blessed if you have doubt. Odd Color hues and inappropriate theological depictions is what to watch out for.
Even then it may not mean to discard the image. I have large beautiful hand painted icon of depictions of the Ressurection scenes. Mary Magdalene has her hair uncovered in a depiction where she realizes the gardener is Christ the Lord. This is more of a Latin depiction as in Orthodoxy she would have her hair veiled. As much as I would have liked it depicted that way, there is no way I would get rid of it over a less than accurate detail
