Does God like desperation?

From the AA meetings I've attended, it seems people have epiphanies when they reach rock bottom. Not always but often. When we have run out of options, practical help isn't on hand. Friends are either non-existent or far away. Job is gone. Money is gone. Family relationships are such that, you couldn't possibly compromise your pride to ask them for help. Homeless perhaps. Oh and physical issues and addictions might play a part.
When we don't need God, he doesn't seem to take as much interest in us?

I think it's more that, when we have things, and things are going good, nobody ever seems to think of God.
He's not the forefront of peoples lives.

And when we're desperate, we've been humbled to a point where we have to concede to God.
I don't believe it's God that puts us there.

We never don't need God, rather we don't want God.
So God isn't to blame, when things are going good, he has the same love for us, but we don't have the same love for him.

You even see this a lot in the Christian Community.

When does someone who follows Jesus NOT NEED GOD?

The Christian disciple completely adheres to the teaching of Jesus and makes Christ their first priority. They live their lives accordingly and are actively involved in making other Christian disciples. (see Matthew 28:19-20)

God takes a special interest in the lives and behavior of His children:
  • 2 Chronicles 16:9 — For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
  • Psalms 147:11 — The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
God sees everything and knows everything that happens on Earth. He is especially watching over the needs of His people. For those who know God are assured that all things are working together for our good. But people who don't know God, have rejected Him, and continue to reject Him, don't have the fellowship or intimacy experience as does a child of God.
  • Psalms 34:15-16 — The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

I think it is human nature, and not God. God is always there. But we choose to do things on our own until we hit rock bottom and then we remember God. But God is full of grace and waits patiently for us to return so that he can throw a party and give us the best calf.

It is sad that some people need to hit a brick wall before they can realze they are on the wrong path.. Sometimes God can cause you to hit a brick wall or two.. But God disaplines those He loves and as we know..

Romans 8: KJV
28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
