"I over my wife during our last pregnancy for days, I fasted, did everything I possibly could to give it to God and still we lost our child. So did God fail me?
Then I would have said yes, definitely. Now, I dont know why my child was taken from me, but I have faith that God is performing his will in my life."
Praise the Lord that you have become settled in your faith in God, despite loss of a child & trials like this.
King David did the same for his son, that the Lord told him would die.
2 Sam 12:15-23 After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David & he became ill. David pleaded with God for the boy. He fasted & went into his house & spent the night lying in sackcloth on the ground. The elders of his household stood beside him to help him up from the ground, but he was unwilling & would not eat anything with them.
18On the 7th day the child died. But David’s servants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, “Look, while the child was alive, we spoke to him, & he would not listen to us. So how can we tell him the child is dead? He may even harm himself.”
19When David saw that his servants were whispering to each other, he perceived that the child was dead. So he asked his servants, “Is the child dead?” “He is dead,” they replied.
20Then David got up from the ground, washed & anointed himself, changed his clothes & went into the house of the LORD & worshiped. Then he went to his own house & at his request they set food before him & he ate.
21“What is this you have done?” his servants asked. “While the child was alive, you fasted & wept, but when he died, you got up & ate.”
22David answered, “While the child was alive, I fasted & wept, for I said, ‘Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me & let him live.’ But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I WILL GO TO HIM, but he will not return to me.”
David, when he died, would see his child again! And so will you!
I remember a missionary friend of mine's second daughter & her anger at God when her oldest sister was killed in a vehicle accident when a truck in the fog hit their car & the oldest daughter was killed instantly.
I was cleaning a house with the 2nd daughter years later & was singing praise songs while cleaning but she wasn't. I asked the Lord for wisdom to know what was going on & He gave me a word of knowledge & wisdom.
I gently said that I sensed a sadness in her & that it was over her sister's death. She got quiet & then said, "Yes." I then said you have been angry at God for taking your sister." She said, "Yes."
Then I told her that God loved her & her sister. God knew that accident would happen. Just before it did, I reminded her that she & her sister would take turns sitting on the passenger front seat. It was her turn but her dad said that the oldest daughter would sit there. You were disappointed.
Yet one very important thing you have missed. Your older sister was saved at the time & you were not & God knew that also. He took your sister home to be with him & allowed you to live, so that you might be saved, which you are now. God showed you mercy! And now you will see each other again!
Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His godly ones.
May the Spirit minister to your heart & increase your faith in our faithful living Lord.
Lamentations 3:19-23 Remember my affliction and wandering, the wormwood and the gall.
20Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me.
21Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD’s loving devotion we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
