Does anyone have suggestions regarding cell phone plans that have no Internet access?

I listened to a sermon last Sunday about the subject of purity. During the sermon the pastor shared that he knows of guys who have decided to use flip phones that have no data plan which means no internet access. What I want to ask is if there is a flip phone and cell phone company/ cell phone plan that anyone would recommend? I have been using an older style phone from Tracfone and I have been in contact with them to ask if they can block data/ internet on my phone but so far they have not been able to. So I am thinking of switching to Consumer Cellular which is the only company I know of that provides flip phones with no internet access. However Consumer Cellular has a lot of negative reviews online and I have had a negative experience with them in the past so I switched back to Tracfone.

I have deliberately decided not to use a smartphone because of a technical problem that allows the user to easily remove accountability/ content filtering software from the phone in a brief moment without any trace or notification to accountability partners.

In order to find a flip phone or older style phone that has no internet access, there needs to be no data plan from the cell phone provider, but the phone also needs to have no WiFi capability so that you also cannot connect to wireless Internet networks.

Thank you for your help and consideration if any of you have any suggestions.

Well, with my Tracfone I would have to pay for the minutes of Internet use, if I understand correctly. I would have to get it connected and also pay for how many minutes I use.

And if your's is like mine, you know you have to pay by the minute for texts and calls incoming and outgoing.

Now . . . maybe . . . if you have an accountability partner, this person might be able to see how many minutes you are using during a short period of time, and common sense could indicate if you've used only enough minutes for phone calls or there are many more minutes used, than that, which could make it suspicious that you have not only been doing texts and calls. And, along with this, your person could see how often you are refilling your minutes.

Check if there is a section which shows how many minutes you have been using for a period of time. In case it shows and distinguishes phone and text and Internet total times of use, your partner can check this against the grand total you have for a period of time :)

In any case, God is able to change our character so we do not do wrong things. If our character stays available to doing anti-love things > then, even though we might keep from doing certain things, our character can act out in other wrong ways, including in how we are relating. So, what really is needed, is how God changes us so we do not have the character to do wrong things.

But an accountability person, in my opinion, can help. But feed on God's word about how to become and love like Jesus, and how to relate as His family with one another, and how to love any and all people. As we grow stronger and more sensible in God's love, we more readily stay with loving.

And trust God who is the only One able to change us really right.

I used to work technical support for ATT. (Advanced android support specialist was my title) flip phones don't necessarily mean they are not smartphones. All 2g towers are gone and 90% of 3g. When I worked there we could absolutely block data, but cell data blocker does not prevent wifi usage. Nothing any cell company can do can prevent wifi usage. That would be controlled by phone manufacturers.
It's a part of parole stipulation for certain criminals to have restrictions on what their cellphones can do, so I don't believe the person you talked too. Maybe they just didn't know how?
But, bottom line, everything I could tell you to do to disable wifi could be undone as easily with the right knowledge. I think HTC had a parental mode, and some phones have a guest mode but that would be something for you to regulate others, not yourself.
If you are doing it for yourself, because you don't trust yourself, be aware that flip phones today are smartphones and I seriously doubt you can find one without wifi connectivity. But, I'd try greatcall, which was bought out by bestbuy and is changing their name within weeks. They make simple phones for senior citizens.
A carrier has no control over manufacturers features, they may not even be fully aware of them, so do your own research too.
I had a flip phone for years and then NO phone. My sister only has a home phone. I did it because I want to be present for life. It is hard to live without a phone, even just making a drs appointment was an experience.

Part of the reason I want TracFone to block the Internet is because I am considering changing my TracFone plan to an unlimited plan. Presently I am paying by the minute and so this extra cost keeps me from using the browser. However if I change to an unlimited plan, than I suppose I could easily get on the browser without additional cost. And also what you said about God changing the heart is true because I have been reading about this in an online course I started taking.

As far as the other suggestions posted, I would also want to know the monthly cost and think I want to find something under $30 a month.

Options for flip phones have decreased from a few years ago. This is one of the problems with a technical solution to a spiritual problem. Manufacturers are going to do what they are going to do. You are at their mercy when it comes to the options that they offer you. This is of course assuming that you remain ignorant of how the technology works and how to get around it. And let's say you don't look at inappropriate content on the Internet at all - you get rid of all phones, you don't get the Internet anymore, and you live in a cabin out in the woods as a hermit. You're still going to lust, maybe every day.

There is something to be said for cutting some modes of committing this sin off, but you need transformation. Does your pastor understand this?

Ok, so maybe you mean your by-the-minute is now costing more than thirty dollars a month.

My lady friend has a MetroPc account, or something like this name. This is working in Massachusetts. She pays a little more or less than thirty dollars a month and this is unlimited for phone and texts, but no Internet. So, I suppose this could keep you off the Net and near thirty dollars.

But when a company already has got your money for the month, at a cheap price, they might not have a motive to pay for enough to keep things always working very well. But Tracfone might know that keeping things working means you use your minutes you will pay for :)

Thank you for asking > God bless you > prayer for you :)

By the way > I just think of this > may be you can help by having a flip phone which might not be so good for Net things and receiving wrong photos and stuff like that. Oh, and Metro might have blocking and screening features that Tracfone does not do.

I thought I would share that the idea of using a flip phone with no data in the cell phone plan was shared in a sermon last Sunday night. Trying to seek God for a heart change is something I agree with because an online course that I started taking recently on the subject of purity included this in the teaching, but I don't think this takes away from the need for strategies involving cutting off access if necessary.
