  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

Ooh, let me see if I can be first here.

Of course not. That would be silly.

Bet they weren't mocking much when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven :)

Lazarus and the Rich Man - Here a little, there a little - Commentary
    Jesus vs the Pharisees

Yeshua uses the last two verses of this parable as an amazing prophecy of his pending resurrection from the dead. The rich man says that although his brothers may not accept the scriptural evidence for the identity of the Messiah, they will accept the evidence of one who is raised from the dead.
But Abraham answers and plainly tells him that anyone who rejects the Bible's teaching about the Messiah will also refuse to acknowledge the evidence of a miraculous resurrection.

This last verse is a sad prophecy about the Jews who, despite God's resurrection of His son from the power of the grave, have failed to recognize Yeshua as the prophesied Messiah.

Wrong, the question was not about me, it was about you.

And I am not invoking Pascal's Wager.

Besides I have my own improved version of Pascal's Wager that leads to belief in the FSM r:amen:

Though Jesus very well may have been a real person the belief that he rose from the dead is about the same as believing that Elvis is flipping burgers in Wisconsin:

I won't doubt that one bit.

After all, Nimrod had his version of Noah's account of the Flood ... replete with his "FSMs".

This photo actually looks like rapid erosion on a large scale. Note the lack of significant wasting on the upper slopes. If the slopes had wasted away over time they would be rather smooth, lacking the definition seen here. They would have had to waste in a very uniform manner to preserve this sharp definition for millions of years.

Sure, it is rather simple. Since there are thousands of gods, and at the very most only one of them can be the true god, and since there is no way to really know which god is the one and only true god, if one exists, then you might as well pick the god with the best heaven. If he is the actual god you win big and if he isn't you don't lose all that much anyway.

So remember, Spaghetti and Meatballs every Friday night and don't forget the sacramental Beer and Parmesan Cheese.

Very true. Saying dreadful things in ignorance is one thing, one can be excused that to a certain extent, but saying them repeatedly and deliberately after having chosen to remain ignorant of how shameful they are is quite another. If he ever does discover his error, his conscience will have a lot to deal with.

    Or the worst "hell" :)

Lazarus and the Rich Man - Here a little, there a little - Commentary

The parable of Lazarus and the rich man has been the foundation for many of the erroneous beliefs about "hell" within traditional Christianity. Some have viewed it not as a parable, but as a true story Yeshua told to give details about the punishment of sinners in hell.

Yet a thorough, unbiased examination of this story will show that the generally accepted interpretations of this passage of Scripture are erroneous and misleading. In this article, we will go through the parable verse by verse to determine what the Messiah was truly teaching.............

I would prefer "Hell" to the eternal (or even temporal) presence of such a god.
