People say everything happens for a reason, how about the people you meet?

I have these friends... I've been avoiding for some time... They're great people... Its just I'm not in a great place ...but they are...
I know they're not judgemental but...

Idk I just feel insecure because were not in the same space... They have degrees and jobs, one a girlfriend and.....I keep fearing one day they'll be too busy for me and leave me behind...so I try to leave them before they leave me ...in a sense.

I don't want to feel the pain of them being too busy for me one day, you know. I just ... I don't know.

I wish I could already be in a good place...like they are :/

I think I understand that feeling quite well. Reject before being rejected. Sad eh. We need the courage to face rejection and the wisdom not to take it personally. You are meant for a different set of friends perhaps? Don't envy or admire them too much.

I think that is the thing we are most afraid of, is rejection.

Talk to them about it. Most people just appreciate other good people.

I don't think my anxiety will allow me to not take it personally :/ ...it is sad indeed.

I almost plucked up the courage to end the friendship...but after talking I really liked having someone to talk to.. I'm maybe ill do it tommorow..or avoid... Which ever one is easier

I know it may seem harsh, but don't look at others portion in life. It will drive you crazy, make you depressed, and angry if you compare yourself to others who have more cause life isn't fair.

I used to make the same mistake. Comparisons are odious is the old cliché.

Thays the thing its hard because they talk about and want to share pics and you have to be a good friend and be happy for them.so you can't just look away....its just hard.

Idk if I want or really can be friends with them anymore....its complicated.

Gratitude is a very strong worship element. Maybe you can be happy for them that God has blessed them in whatever way.

for instance say "God is good, what a blessing He has given you". This edifies the other person and also edifies ourselves as we think 'yes he has blessed others and yes He has blessed me."

God's Word says Give thanks for all He has given you. Being happy for others blessings is hard at first, but you can get past this and then you will really be happy when He blesses the people around you. At first, be obedient to God's command to carry others burdens lightly. Then give thanks for His answered prayer and helping you carrier the heavier burdens.

Somehow when you can learn to share in their happiness and see it as a blessing from God, I think it will continue to get easier for you.

Don't give up hope. Ask the Lord for peace through this trial. Ask Him to soften your heart for others and that helps you, even though it doesn't seem like it right now.

Yes sometimes it's our reasons and sometimes it's God's reason. Some people you meet God doesn't want you to know.

Having a degree or a job doesnt necessarily mean you are in a great place!!! Think about it, the Pharisees were highly educated and had a job for life, but were they in a great place with Jesus?

    Nooooo

Who was in the better place, the rich man or Lazarus?

How incredibly sad that you want to end a friendship because you are jealous. You are afraid that they will be too busy for you, and you are allowing that fear to ruin a nice friendship. Do you plan to end all of your future friendships for the same reason? Do you prefer to not have any relationships at all so that there's no fear of rejection?

I really encourage you to think through what you are saying. This kind of thinking will cause you much more pain in the long run than if you changed your perspective by refusing to compare yourself to others and to be truly happy for the blessings of others. If you keep comparing yourself, you will miss out on your own blessings because you won't appreciate them.

When you care about someone else, there will always be pain. If avoiding pain is the most important thing to you, then you will not have deep and meaningful relationships. Instead, I encourage you to face your fears and develop courage. That way, you'll be able to enjoy deeper friendships and more.

Sorry for being human. Everyone experiences jealousy though alot of people don't want to admit it...I'm just being honest and not lying or covering it up...and I know you have experienced it to some degree as well..

But I have texted my friends though...its just difficult... If you've never been in the position of being the under dog while you watch others you help soar and fly..you'll never understand and just point fingers like those who think they know everything and they don't...

Its easy to say ," How incredibly sad" when you haven't lost you place,friends..just about everything and hear and see your friends get everything they ever wanted..that. Is. Hard. It just is , and if you're honest you'll agree too...

I'm not saying I'm not happy for them , I just want to be happy with them... That is all...but if you've never been in my position or struggled in your life...then I don't expect you to understand or grasp what I'm saying ...

    Because you lack the experience.

I haven't read all the replies on here so sorry if I say something you've already talked about.

I think you're overthinking things a little bit. There's nothing wrong with having friends who are "better off" than you are. If you're happy, or somewhat happy, about where you're at in life then why does it matter if they have better jobs or more education. If those people are friendly and enjoy having you as a friend then you shouldn't feel less then them. In my opinion I think it's sad that you are trying to distance yourself from them for those reasons. If those people are "smarter" then you are maybe they could even help you in life by giving tips and encouragement on how to get ahead in life.

I'm not the smartest person either. I know people who have gone to university and have engineering degrees. For the most part you can tell that they are smarter then I am. Usually I don't care because I understand who I am and I'm happy with who I am. My friends accept me The way I am. BUT, there are times were even I have said things or even corrected my "smarter" friends. They are human just like me and EVERYONE makes mistakes.

So, I want to encourage you to think better of yourself! Accept your short comings. Meditate on things you CAN DO. :)

If you jealous confess and repent of it because its not good to be jealous of others be happy for them. Reality is, whatver position in life we are its never going to be perfect.

Are you going to resent someone cos they earned a degree and you didnt? Earning a degree is HARD and you need to stick with your studies, possibly go into debt and give up your social life.

Working full time is a drag on your energy with people coming at you right and left and being rsponisble for so many things. Are you going to resent someone because they have a job?

Marriage is hard yards too. Its not as easy as it looks. Of course theirs benefits but look at what YOU have now instead of other people. What have you really got to be jealous of? They joined the rat race and you didnt? They probably looking at you and thinking wow i would give it up just to be free instead of a slave to the system!

I am working on my degree now... I just want us all to be on the same path... That's all. I just don't want to be behind anyone.. It'd be nice if we were all on the same path/place in life.
