Do you think Christians sin? If so, what common unconfessed sins do you think Jesus forgives?

willful sin .
knowing that the action your embarking on .the activity your setting out to preform by an act of your OWN will IS a sinful activity in opposition to the will of and word of God
is ABSOLUTELY NOT covered by the sacrificial blood of Christ if a person has once repented AND tasted of the devine in the holy Spirit ..etc .

But the problem and comprehension of what this means comes in the fact that an astounding majority of those who identify as "Christian" .. have never yet entered into salvation in the first place having never sincerely repented and forsaken sin or themselves in order to follow Christ .
they take on an intellectual concept of salvation and outwardly ACT out ,without sincere faith a few ceremonies . then - they return to living their own life their own way seeking their own kingdom their own will their own wants desires and lusts .They gather at their local club on Sunday pat themselves on the back with a motivational speech and continue in their OWN WAY.

they have not ever come to true repentance
they have not even begun to DIE to self take up cross and follow Jesus
in short -they are NOT his disciples -they are sadly and sorely self deceived

I would have worded it a little differently, but for the most part, I agree with you. However, we have to pray and love them with only a love that comes from the Lord. We should show them that their belief is not what the Bible plainly teaches.

Think about it like this. Imagine if our society said that you should not murder, rape, steal, etc. and yet there was no penalty for such crimes because the ruler of that society was supposedly gracious enough to give everyone a free pass to be automatically forgiven of all future crimes. This is what you have done with God’s grace and His kingdom. But imagine a world or country like that. Really imagine what that would be like. It would be chaos. There would be nobody to keep the peace and criminals could roam free (to hurt law abiding citizens) instead of them being locked up in prisons (where they wouldn't harm others in society who are obeying the laws of the land).
The version of Grace that I am exposing does not say there is no penalty for sin. There is. But it is first correction, if correction is pushed aside long enough, then comes damnation. I don't have the time to go into every scriptural reference as the only time I can comment is during my work lunch break. I am currently working on a document at home that details the case for grace. Will post it here once done.

I am not against God's grace. But God's grace is not a license for justifying even one grievous sin (Which you appear to disagree with because you think it takes lots of grievous sin to be separated from God). There are several examples in the Bible of how one grievous sin is all it takes to be separated from God. You have to do backflip twists with the text of the Holy Scriptures to make the Bible say otherwise.

Adam and Eve died spiritually (not physically) the day Adam sinned once.
Ananais and Sapphira each died for their committing the sin of lying each.
Peter told Simon to repent of his wickedness and pray that God may forgive him for his one time sin of trying to pay for the Holy Ghost.
To speak bad words against the Holy Ghost is a one time sin that can never be forgiven. Worshiping the beast is a one time sin that equates with that person never having had their name in the book of life since the foundation of the world.
Proverbs 6:32 says he that commits adultery destroys his own soul. It does not say he that commits adultery many times destroys their own soul. It only takes one act of adultery. 1 John 3:15 says no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. Numbers 35:16-18 says it only takes one act of murder to be a murderer. No murderer has eternal life abiding in them. Revelation 21:8 says ALL liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire. It only takes one lie to be a liar. If a person repents (or confesses) of that sin, they will be forgiven.

I was talking to Jason.

But are you saying that OSAS camp is actively seeking opportunities to sin because they're saved either way? That's a pretty low opinion to have of your fellow Christian
Not even atheists actively seek opportunities to sin. Be real.

But OSAS believers have no reason to resist sin when temptation comes. None of them even admit that they are under the law to love God let alone man. They are free from all law (lawless) with heaven guaranteed even if they don’t love God. I’ve adked a few and nine of them put themselves under the command to love the Lord. That and all other laws of God are either optional extras or they think God will change their hearts while they sleep so it doesn’t disturb following their desires. What they don’t know is God changes our heart when and because we ourselves refuse wrong desire.

One more verse.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13).

So they KNOW that they have eternal life by believing on the name of the Son of God (Note: Of course this would include believing on the name of Jesus described in the Bible who told us to do many things).

We can have an assurance of our salvation in the here and now. 1 John 2:3-4 holds the key to knowing the Lord (Who is salvation). For if we find that we are keeping His commandments, we can say that we know Him.

For when I heard the plan of salvation according to Scripture, I knew I was lost and I needed a Savior. When I sought out forgiveness with the Lord Jesus Christ and believed in His death and resurrection on my behalf, I knew I was then saved. In fact, it was like a light had went on inside of me. I had a peace and a love like I never had before and I knew I was saved in that moment. I wanted everyone to have this. So I told many others about the Lord Jesus Christ.

No offense sister, but if you do not honestly get it after this, I cannot help you if you cannot see something that is so clear and so plain in the Holy Scriptures.

In any event, this does not change my love for you in Christ.
May you have a blessed and good day in the Lord today.
Nice post. You misunderstood me. I rejoice at your salvation experience and it is like mine except no one preached the gospel to me. I was alone in my room, but that’s another story.

I know I am saved because He walks and talks with me and he’d tell me if it weren’t so.

Well, I see the Bible repeatedly describe the word "repent" as the same thing as confessing sin and or as seeking God's forgiveness. I see the Bible describing forsaking sin and doing good deeds as what the Bible calls: "fruits of repentance." The "fruit of repentance" cannot be the same thing as "repentance;" That wouldn't make any sense. Anyways, here is...

A Biblical Case For Repentance:

At the heart, I believe the Bible teaches that repentance means, "Asking God for forgiveness" (Which of course naturally then leads to the "fruits of repentance", i.e. obedience to the Lord):

Important Note: While I may believe "Repentance" does involve to a certain degree a "change of mind" (like a person changing their mind about their old life of sin), I do not think "Repentance" exclusively means a “change of mind.”

Anyways, here are my ten points using Scripture showing that "repentance" means "asking God for forgiveness of sin."

#1. Acts 2:38,
The New Living Translation says in Acts 2:38 to "repent of your sins."
Douay Reheims says in Acts 2:38 to "Do penance."
New Life Version says in Acts 2:38 to "Be sorry for your sins"

#2. Luke 17:3 says, "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him." This doesn't make any sense if "repent" means believe in Jesus (as some teach) or to have a change of mind about sin (as others teach) or to exclusively forsake sin. Yes, we are to forsake sin as a part of repentance but that comes later after repentance (Which is to ask God for forgiveness of our sin). For how can we reconcile with a brother if we do not say we are sorry vs. just going on about life as if we did nothing wrong?

#3. Jesus said in Matthew 12:41 that the Ninevites will rise up in Judgment against this generation because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. If you were to turn to Jonah chapter 3, you would be able to see in Jonah 3:6-10 that the King of the Ninevites had told his people to:

(a) Cry out to God (i.e. Repentance) (See Jonah 3:8).
(b) Turn from their sins or evil ways (i.e. The Natural Fruits of Repentance).

#4. Matthew 3:6 (which then lines up with Matthew 3:8). Also, in Mark 1:4-5, it says John preached the "baptism of repentance" for the remission of sins (verse 4), and it then defines this "baptism of repentance" by saying they confessed their sins when they were baptized (verse 5).

#5. We see in Acts of the Apostles 8:22 a clear example of Peter telling Simon to "repent" of his wickedness in trying to pay for the Holy Spirit. Peter is telling Simon to make a prayer towards God. For Peter says that he should pray that God might forgive him. In other words, Peter is telling Simon to repent of a one time event of wickedness by way of prayer to GOD. This only makes sense if "repent" means to "ask for forgiveness."

#6. Ezekiel 14:6 says,
"Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols;" Repent makes the most sense here if a person is asking God for forgiveness by way of prayer instead of a person just believing in God. Naturally a person believes in God as their Savior if they are planning on forsaking their idols.

#7. We see repentance is the topic of discussion in Luke 15 (Luke 15:6) (Luke 15:10); This is then followed up by the "Parable of the Prodigal Son" with the son desiring to be reconciled with his father. We learn the WAY the Prodigal Son desired to be reconciled with his father when he said,

"I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants." (Luke 15:18-19).

In other words, the Prodigal Son was seeking forgiveness. This ties into the point of repentance in Luke 15:6 and Luke 15:10.

#8. Luke 10:13 says,
"Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes." This rules out the theory that repentance is exclusively forsaking sin. Granted, forsaking sin always follow true repentance (Asking God for forgiveness of one's sins) but forsaking sin is not repentance. The word "repented" here is describing a one time event because they "repented", sitting in sackcloth and ashes. In Jonah 3:6 we learn that the King of Nineveh sat in sackcloth and ashes. In Jonah 3:8, the King of Nineveh tells people to put on sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God (i.e. repentance): and then turn from their evil way (i.e. the fruits of repentance).

#9. John the Baptist says we are to bring forth fruits worthy of repentance (Luke 3:8). Fruits are deeds (or obedience to God). How can repentance be the same thing as the fruit? Is the fruit the same thing as the tree?

#10. Jeremiah 8:6 says, "I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle." Here we see the word "repented of wickedness" tied with the words, "What have I done?" This is an acknowledgement of one's sin to God as a part of asking His forgiveness.

Notable Additional Verses that Deal with Repentance
(But They Do Not Use The Word "Repent" or "Repentance"):

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).

13 "And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Luke 18:13-14).

Proverbs 28:13 says whosoever confesses and forsakes sin shall have mercy.
Yeah.. You can get so in depth that the point becomes ambiguous .
Summerize .. In hebrew it (repent) is turn back from evil works to do good.
In greek repent denotes to change ones mind and turn back to go Gods way.
Either way if its not done. There simply is no salvation

So a person can be like a King David and commit murder and adultery for a short amount of time and be saved while doing so as long as they confess it later?

What is the point of confessing such a sin if one is already forgiven of such a sin beforehand? David was seeking forgiveness in his letter of confession to God for his sins. He was confessing so as to be forgiven of sin. He was not already forgiven. People who are already forgiven by God do not need to confess their sins. It makes no sense. To say that David was saved in his sins of adultery and murder is to say that a Christian can do the same thing (Which is teaching that God's grace is a license for immorality or sin). Imagine if you will, teaching this to a child. You can commit murder and adultery and be saved as long as you at some point pay lip service to God. But the act of grievous sin itself will not separate you from God. Can you imagine if this child turned out to be the next George Sodini because they believed they could sin and still be saved like a King David?

George Sodini is also a strong proponent of Eternal Security and or that your future sins are forgiven you (i.e. all sins are paid for by Jesus if you have a belief in Him). Yet, George murdered a bunch of people and took his own life. George confessed in his suicide letter the following words:

“Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for EVERY sin, so how can I or you be judged BY GOD for a sin when the penalty was ALREADY paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.”

This is the true fruits of Eternal Security. This is why the belief that says future sin is forgiven you or the Eternal Security belief is so dangerous.

To learn more about George Sodini, check out this article here. Such a belief makes light of sin and can turn a person into a monster. Sure, some here will say that does not happen to a true believer, etc., etc. But I see no difference between what George said about his belief vs. what many here say have said about their belief. Jesus said we will know a tree by it's fruit; And George's fruit was not good (Which is no doubt a direct result of his wrong belief).

King David committed adultery and murder but he was not forgiven of these sins while he was doing them. It is why he needed to confess of these sins. David needed to be forgiven of his sins. It's why he was confessing them. It is illogical to confess sin if you are already forgiven. Some say that David was merely restoring His fellowship and it had nothing to do with salvation. But David was asking for his sins to be forgiven and blotted out. If one's sins are not blotted out, then one is not forgiven or saved. David did not remain an adulterer or as a murderer. David did not justify his sin by saying he was saved and forgiven so there was no need for him to confess his sin to God. Folks are turning God's grace into a license for immorality. It is wrong.

Justifying sin and evil for a short amount of time under God's grace is just as wrong as justifying sin and evil all the time. Justifying habitual sin starts with justifying one grievous sin. It is evil and wrong to do so from the very beginning and it does not become evil and wrong by the 15th time (or more) a person commits that grievous sin.

Your position is the totally illogical one for Christ paid the penalty for your sins long before you were born. Your name was written in His book before the world was founded.

Stop fighting God's grace see, His saving work was once for all time, you don't like it, so what? who cares? He is God He does what pleases Him.

Even in Paul's day in his assemblies were people who were saved but were in deep sin, Paul never once warns them that could be damned, that would be a derogation of apostolic duty if damnation was a possibility.

And damnation does not mean sent to hell, it means judged or condemned.

Well, I believe that what I said is clear by the verses I posted; But whatever words you choose or I choose, I agree with you that we have to confess and forsake sin in order to have mercy (salvation) (Proverbs 28:13). Many others here would disagree with that, though. We should pray for them on that.

May God bless you today.

Of course they do. Are you saying no OSAS believer loves to obey God out of love and reverence?

I believe the OSAS believer thinks they love to obey God and reverence on some level, but it is not exactly the love and reverence that God requires, though. God wants a person's whole heart and life and He doesn't want them to justify sin on some level because God is good and holy. He can no more justify sin by allowing His people to justify sin then for rain not to be wet.

In God's view of the total timeline of creation (which includes heaven as a created entity), all events of eternity are completed and God has a full, continuous view of them. God's "now" encompasses all eternity.

That means God sees in His "now" every saved individual as already and completely saved. Now, right now. God sees as saved in His "now" people who may not yet be born as we experience time. God sees as saved in His "now" today's raging atheist who will be saved a year from now as we experience time.

So in all of our little endlessly nattering debates over the matter we should keep in mind:

The end of a matter is better than the beginning, and a patient spirit is better than a proud one. -- Ecclesiastes 7

And God already sees the "end."

Your position is the totally illogical one for Christ paid the penalty for your sins long before you were born. Your name was written in His book before the world was founded.

Except for those who will worship the beast in the future (Revelation 13:8) (Revelation 17:8), every persons' name was written in the book of life by Christ's sacrifice. This is why babies are saved if they die. Christ saves the innocent. But when we grow up and fall into sin, we become separated from God by that grievous sin and we need to come to Jesus by faith to be saved again. This is like a parallel of the story of the Prodigal Son. When the prodigal son came home, and repented to his father (everlasting father, i.e. Jesus), the father said that he was dead and he became alive again. He was lost and now he is found. The parable is speaking in spiritual terms. He was dead spiritually because of his life of sin, and he became alive again spiritually by repenting (seeking forgiveness) and coming back to his father. This story is proof that grievous sin can separate a believer from God.

Stop fighting God's grace see, His saving work was once for all time, you don't like it, so what? who cares? He is God He does what pleases Him.

Sorry. That is not how God's grace works. God's grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and that we should live righteously and godly in this present world (Titus 2:11-12). God's grace does not teach us to not care about righteousness (Which is what your version of grace does because you say King David was saved in his sins of adultery and murder). This means that you are telling people that they can be like a David and commit murder and sin and still be saved while doing so (Which is the opposite of God's grace teaching us to deny ungodliness).

Look. In Matthew 7:23, Jesus tells certain believers (because they did works in his name) to depart from Him because they worked iniquity (or sin). Yet, you are saying that a person can sin and still be saved. This flies in direct contradiction of this verse and many others in your Bible.

You said:
Even in Paul's day in his assemblies were people who were saved but were in deep sin, Paul never once warns them that could be damned, that would be a derogation of apostolic duty if damnation was a possibility.

Nowhere does the Bible teach such a thing. What passage are you referring to?
1 Corinthians 3?

Just because they are called brethren does not mean they are saved brethren. It's possible for a brother to be dead spiritually (See James 5:19-20 and Luke 15:32).

It's possible to be in Christ's Kingdom and to later be taken out of His Kingdom by Christ's angels because of their sin or iniquity whereby they will be thrown into the furnace of fire, i.e. the Lake of Fire (See Matthew 13:41-42).

It's why the goats and the sheep will be separated at the Judgment.
It's why Jesus says not to pull up the weeds among the wheat until the end of the Harvest (i.e. the Judgment). God will sort out those who will sin in His Kingdom or who justify sin and He will destroy them.

And damnation does not mean sent to hell, it means judged or condemned.

"Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?" (Matthew 23:33).

God wants to enlist us in what He is doing. Just because GOD knows who will ultimately be saved or not saved in the end, it does not mean we know that fact. Believers still have to live in the here and now by faith and they can become unsaved by going back to a life of grievous sin without repentance. They can even die spiritually by just committing one grievous sin like Ananais and Sapphira.

Here's another one we disagree on. Just because God decided to take their lives at that time doesn't mean that he sent them to hell. They made a mistake. Their punishment was death. Nowhere is there any mention in scripture that this death was of a spiritual kind.

You probably also think Lot's wife, who was turned to a pillar of salt for looking back on the city, is also in hell. I would also disagree.

No I am not. But when temptations come, the enemy tells them it does not matter since they are going to Heaven no matter what evil they do. So their responses to those who do not believe as they do show the fruit of that theology. There is a poster here who believer OSAS and that theology comforted him all the while he was sinning as he pleased. Today he says he has lost his salvation, his relationship with God, his forgiveness and his heart is stone hard. He bitterly regrets believing in OSAS.

You are correct. Repentance and asking forgiveness are not the same thing. Actually the often response by those who wrote the Bible is "repent and believe." Not a one of them said to ask Jesus into your heart. That is pretty cheap and easy and painless compared to true repentance.

None of them will even admit that they are under the command to do so. And all I read is how much they love being saved no matter how they behave (other words but same meaing.) If they loved God himself they would talk about Him and not about how they are saved and how no one can pluck them out of his hand and how he is sufficient to ensrue they make it. They do not even hint at doing anything for God but expect Him to do everything for them even believing he is supposed to change their hearts painlessly while they sleep so as not to discomfort their desires by having to deny themselves any pleasure. He is supposed to make them not want evil pleasures.

Here's another one we disagree on. Just because God decided to take their lives at that time doesn't mean that he sent them to hell. They made a mistake. Their punishment was death. Nowhere is there any mention in scripture that this death was of a spiritual kind.

If you were to think like a detective investigating a crime scene and think about how humans behave and their motives involved, you would come to the conclusion that your belief here simply does not work. A great fear came upon the church. If the church knew Ananais and Sapphira were saved, fear would be the last thing on their minds. Paul says to live is Christ and to die is gain. So to die means we are to be with Christ. So if a fellow believer dies over a particular sin and we know they are saved, we would not experience fear because our life here is merely the trial of our faith. To die means we have reached the end of our faith and we get to be with Jesus. Death is a reward to be with the Lord. So if they truly died and were saved, the church would either experience sadness in the fact that they would miss them until they go home, or they would rejoice and or feel comforted that they are in the arms of the Lord. Fear would not be the emotion the church would feel if the church knew they were saved. They are afraid (or in fear) because God can condemn anyone of us over trying to justify even one grievous sin (like Ananais and Sapphira did).

You probably also think Lot's wife, who was turned to a pillar of salt for looking back on the city, is also in hell. I would also disagree.

Her life is used as an example of how she was seeking to save her old life (and by doing so she lost it).

32 "Remember Lot's wife.
33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it." (Luke 17:32-33).

The scenario in Luke 17 is in the future (after the Pre-Trib Rapture). It is a warning to those in Judea (and possibly even the Gentile believer in other parts of the world) not to go back to your house to abide with one's family. Why? Well, the antichrist just took control of the Jewish temple and he will seek to enforce the mark upon others soon. Most will buy into this because without the mark, you cannot buy or sell. Meaning... no food. But if you seek to save your life, by feeding your family by having the mark, you will lose your life. But if you seek to lose your life for Christ's sake by trusting in Him for salvation (instead of food), you will flee and wait upon the hope Jesus and the hope of the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Today, we can apply this verse in a similar way.

Jesus said at another point (generically):

“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)

"For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. " (Matthew 16:25).

He is supposed to make them not want evil pleasures.

2 Peter 2 says,

21 "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

The Holy Commandment:

1 Peter 1 says,

13 "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."

7 "Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you. (Leviticus 20:7-8).

That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God." (Numbers 15:40).

Granted, we are under a New Covenant (New Testament, New Contract) with new commands, but we are to obey the Lord and be holy as a part our faith in Jesus Christ. Many do not like this aspect of salvation. For many in the sin and still be saved camp will say that is impossible to be holy.

However, we have not been called unto uncleanness but unto holiness
(See 1 Thessalonians 4:7).
